These quotes in today's Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune say a lot about the state of Utah basketball.
"I think we're all a little more satisfied with this," Deane said
"We're never satisfied with a loss, but this didn't leave a terrible taste that we've had after quite a few games this season," Deane said.
We are now to the point where losses do not hurt too much anymore. This is especially frustrating coming from a freshman that has 3 more years in the program. He is getting used to losing and it hurts less and less with each loss. Giacoletti has found a way to make his team feel okay about losing. I guess once you do it so much you get used to it.
Giacoletti added the following, "This could have been a disaster," he said. "But they showed some character."
Nonetheless, I personally feel that losses now will benefit the program long term. Each loss makes it increasingly more difficult for Giacoletti to keep his job. He is simply forcing Chris Hill to make a change.
