Too early to start talking BCS?
Yeah, probably, but the BCS rankings will be released after this week's action and how awesome would it be if the Utes were the highest non-BCS team in the country?
Unlikely? Don't be so sure. In fact, count on it.
Thanks to Rich Tellshow's BCS Projections, we can take a peek at the current BCS rankings. Though it should be noted that these are just estimates and can't be taken as the literal BCS numbers, which will officially be released on October 19th.

Clearly, Utah is in good position to be ranked the highest when those rankings come out. Though with BYU taking on TCU (27th), a victory there might push them high enough where they pass Utah, who will play Colorado State (62nd) Saturday. One thing is clear, however, Utah is favored by the computers (no bias), while the Cougars are favored by the polls.
So how far would Utah and BYU move up with a win? Well it depends. That, for now, can't be predicted.

Yes, too early
I think Utah considering BCS, either the team or the fans, is a prescription for disaster.
Focus on each game.
Also here
also lists mock BCS standings and breaks down the components using the actual formula and available data. With only one computer missing it is very close to the real deal, within the amount the standings will get shaken up by this weeks games.
I have been watching this for weeks and we actually passed BYU last week.
I have also been watching the 3 outsiders in the top 14, and the rest of the top 14 being locked down by the Big 12 and SEC.
If Ohio State and Michigan State both lose, and they both still play Penn State and face each other this weekend, a second BCS outsiders could be the only eligible team for the final BCS bowl slot.
