Utes crack top ten in the BCS rankings

The second week BCS rankings are out and Utah has moved into tenth, up a spot from last week. Even though Utah did not play, Ohio State's loss provided Utah a chance to move up and with the Utes returning to play Saturday, if they continue to win, there is no reason to not expect them to climb even higher.

Right behind Utah, like last week, is Boise State at 11th. The Broncos defeated San Jose State Friday and appear to be Utah's biggest competition when it comes to a BCS bowl game. Though with the Utes playing TCU (13th) and BYU (20th), winning out should keep Utah ahead of Boise.

Here's the BCS top-25:

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Penn State
4. Oklahoma
5. USC
6. Georgia
7. Texas Tech
8. Florida
9. Oklahoma St
10. Utah
11. Boise State
12. Ohio State
13. TCU
14. Missouri
15. Florida State
16. Ball State
17. Minnesota
18. Tulsa
19. LSU
20. BYU
21. Michigan State
22. North Carolina
23. South Florida
24. Oregon
25. Connecticut

TCU is our biggest competition for a BCS bowl

No one can pass us if we win out. TCU faces us head to head. It is possible, though unlikely, that TCU could pass Boise State if they defeat us.

It is also possible that TCU could recover to the top 14 after losing to us if the game is close.

It is also very possible that Ohio State loses another game and Utah and Boise State both get a BCS Bowl.
