C'mon Utah, one victory away from the BCS. You can do it!

Gameday
BYU Utah

Game Preview

What to expect when Utah has the ball: The Utes will probably test the Cougar secondary, but there should be a balanced offensive performance. BYU's secondary has not performed well since shutting down UCLA earlier in the year and their run defense is just as questionable. Utah will try to do everything in their power to exploit both deficiencies.

What to expect when BYU has the ball: A lot of passing. Max Hall is going to try and get Austin Collie and Dennis Pitta as involved in the offense as possible. Both players are very capable of making huge plays and they essentially make the offense work. The Cougars will also rely on their offensive line to give Hall enough time to find those two weapons.

How Utah wins: Keep Collie to marginal success and pressure the hell out of Hall. Utah's offense also needs to find the holes that exist in BYU's defense. Now while the Utes are very capable of winning in a shootout, a low scoring game almost certainly benefits them. If they can keep the Cougar offense sputtering and out of the end zone, much like they did last season, their offense should do just enough to win them this game.

Lucky hopin' for the luckiest and best win of 'em all!

Me be dancing all the way through a Utah victory!

It doesn't seem very smart to me

For the conference to put arguably its most attractive game on probably the least available network, even if it is the conference’s own.

Agreed.

Instead of Utah/BYU, I’m watching Oklahoma destroy Texas Tech.

Max Hall: Player of the Game... for Utah.

Game isn’t over yet, but 4 turnovers resulting directly in 21 points for Utah…. not to mention his little fiasco before half time.

I think Collie should punch him in the face at their next little family barbecue.

If Utah has to win I at least wanted to see it be on their own merit… not BYU just handing it over and a silver platter. Pathetic and embarrassing.

Utah's strong point

is their defense.
The turnovers aren’t just Hall making mistakes… the Utes forte is playing strong D and getting TOs from them.

I mean

yeah, Hall could play better. But it’s not just the Utes getting lucky.

I mean 5...

Oh I’m sorry, I mean 5 turnovers. Will it result in more points for Utah? Probably.
