Ludwig to Kansas State
The Deseret News is reporting Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig has accepted the same position at Kansas State. Ludwig becomes Utah's second coordinator to leave the program, joining Gary Andersen who left earlier for the head job at Utah State.
I'll admit, this is a surprise, but then again, success brings these types of results. It's not known who will replace Ludwig, though I have a sneaking suspicion Aaron Roderick might just be Utah's next OC.
We'll see.
Thoughts?

Yes if it hadn't have been for Ludwig's inept play calling
Utah would have found a way to be 14-0 by now.

It is true that the Utes are 12-0. And I have defended Ludwig often (how he set up the option on the goal line against AF was classic) but they would be 9-3 if it weren’t for #3’s play calling while running the 2 minute drills. Ludwig was good not as good as he was supposed to be, and not as bad as many say he is.

I wish Lud the very best in his move to K-State. I’ve often disagreed with a number of his calls, but thought he served the Utah program well, especially when BJ was injured last year. I shook my head many times this year too, but have to admit that AL called terrific games the last two times out. I’m hoping that he calls one more great game as a Ute before heading to K-State.

Yep
Good sentiments, and one more:
That we hire someone who can out recruit and out call anyone west of the Mississippi.

I like it...
I don’t think Ludwig was as bad as many, but I never felt like he really understood what this offense was built to do. I just felt like he wasn’t comfortable with the spread offense at times. This will allow the Utes to find someone that can run this offense better imo. I hope they take their time and look outside the state. Roderick may not be a bad option, but I’m not sure he’s ready either.

Boy...
The response of Utah fans is similar to Oregon fans…
Ludwig was the worst Oregon O-Coordinator in about 20 years. Getting rid of him brought Oregon back from it’s pathetic offensive showings during his tenure.
Sucks to be a K-State fan.

What to do with 4.5 million in BCS dollars...
Can Utah afford to bring in a quality OC capable of running the spread offense with our decades tradition of strong lines and running backs and Louks as QB?

Louks at QB!
Too predictable.Yeah he can run ,nice to bring in to give a differant look. But he’s too small,I don’t think he can see over the front line .Manis 6’6 230lbs great arm and can flat-out run over players. To me he’s the better choice.
