Looks like it'll be Utah-Alabama in the Sugar Bowl

The Fiesta is going to pass on the Utes and that leaves the Sugar Bowl and Orange, with the Orange being the less likely of the two. Since Alabama lost to Florida in the SEC Championship tonight, it appears likely that is who Utah will face.

It's going to be a tough contest, but how many times do you get to take on a one-loss Bama team in the Sugar Bowl?

Exactly.

GO UTES! ROLL THE TIDE!

Remember when Fiesta officials said...

…that they would take the highest ranked at-large team available? Yeah, so much for that

Pitt f'd us a lot.

2004 was the lowest rated BCS game in history and that scared the Fiesta off.

:(

Until the Sugar Bowl last year.

We’re not the worst rating ever. We’re second. That counts for something, right?

Tide fan here.

I have been following the highly underrated utes all year. I look forward to playing you guys and may even go to louisiana to see it. I just came by to wish you guys luck, and also, congratulations on the undefeated season.

Thanks.

I don’t know if Utah can win, but I just hope they don’t Hawaii it up out there.

It’ll suck for Ute fans because New Orleans is NOT very close to Salt Lake and we brought around 50,000 to the Fiesta in 2005. But New Orleans on New Years will probably rock.

Thanks Bret

Tough game in Atlanta Yesterday, congrats on what really was a fantastic season there though—second year and Saban has them rolling! That is impressive. What’s more, he has the nucleus to build around a good team next year as well. Gotta love John Parker Wilson, speaking of underrated, watched that kid all his career (I live in Tallahassee) and he is special. After the third quarter yesterday I counted ‘Bama as the champ, really hoping to see that defense play against OU’s Offense.

Best of luck to your team in the bowl game. Here’s to an exciting game, though I think we will be lucky just to hang around in this one. No one wanted to have to play Florida or Alabama after they lost that game.

anyone booking their flights and hotels right after the announcement tomorrow to get the best prices?

I'm thrilled!!!

that the Utes get the opportunity to play one of the most prestigious programs in college football…either Texas or Alabama. I’m hoping it’s Alabama in the Sugar Bowl as I live in Mississippi and have already ordered tickets through the U website.

The Alabama/Florida game was terrific. Nick Saban has done a great job with them. I think the Utes are up to the task, but i will take a monumental effort! I know the players will be thrilled to play whomever we draw. Whether it’s Texas or Alabama (I hope!!), the Utes will be getting a really pissed off team. Be ready UTES!!
