What if....?
This is a HUGE what if, but what if Utah were to be put into the Pac-10?
This is a HUGE what if, but what if Utah were to be put into the Pac-10? What do you think our record would be the first year of playing in football? I think we could go through with one loss in the conference. That loss coming to USC. Then through the non-conference depending who we play would determine the rest. What does everyone else think?
What about basketball? How well do you think we could do with that? I think that is where we would get dominated. We haven't done well in our conference, and the Pac-10 has so many better teams than we have with basketball. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about it.

It depends on the where the games are played I think
I would have to know which games are home games. USC is probably the only guaranteed loss – wherever the game would be played. But I do not see Utah winning if they had to play Oregon in Eugene or Arizona State in Tempe. Play those games in Salt Lake City, though and I like Utah’s chances.
I also like Utah’s chances against Arizona, Washington State, and Stanford on any field. As for UCLA, Washington, California, and Oregon State I think home field would play a big role.

Alright, I see what you mean here. But with the team we have this year, if we stay healthy, I think we could take ASU in Tempe, we showed how to play UCLA even tho it was on our homefield, but Cal and Oregon State, I think we could beat them regardless. Oregon State we should have won last year but we had injuries all over. I think if Brian doesn’t go down, we win that game. We were up 7-0 with the ball when he went down. We score that touchdown instead of Brian getting hurt and we go up 14-0 and the fans start to quiet down and now the home field advantage goes away.
GO UTES!!

No Way
Look at Utah’s conference record in the past 3 years. This is in the Mountain West, which is not a very good conference.
4-4
5-3
5-3
Why should I believe they would get through the Pac-10 with only 1 loss?

I don't see how they'd go through the schedule undefeated.
Let’s just say they were added in place of Washington State and played the following conference schedule:
Cal – Possible win, but a very difficult task. Cal should be solid this year, so I say a loss.
Oregon – I actually think Oregon will take a step back and people are overrating them. So I say a win.
@ UCLA – If it were in Salt Lake, a probable win, but after what happened in 2006, I say a loss.
@ Oregon State – 2007, and a better Oregon State team than what we got last year. At least overall. So I say a loss.
USC – haha, no way, a big loss!
@ Stanford: I say a win.
Arizona: I say a win.
@ Arizona State: If it were in Salt Lake, a win, but on the road? I say a loss.
Washington: A win.
That puts Utah’s Pac Ten record at 4-5.

Utah is 6-3 in its last 9 PAC 10 games. If we are in the PAC 10 it is likely BYU is as well. Maybe we are not in USC’s division of the PAC 10 and don’t play them.
USC is the only team that is certain to beat us.
Arizona State, Oregon and BYU would be close, but Utah would be an underdog.
I like our odds against UCLA, Washington, California and Oregon State.
A loss to Arizona, Stanford or WSU would be embarrassing.
If we played all 11 schools we could eazily be 7-4, so 6-3 is not far off for a 9 game schedule. if we go 3-1 in non conference play that would be 9-4.
