Grade the Weber State game

Utah won and really, that's all that matters. They lumbered through it, didn't look great during most of the game, but I don't think it was because this team is regressing. They just had a difficult time getting up for an FCS team a few days before maybe the biggest game of the Whittingham era to date. I wish we could have made it look more impressive, but Utah is 5-0 and suffered no major injuries, so you couldn't ask for more.

With that said, I expect a far better performance Thursday.

But now you get to grade it. So grade the game...

I gave it an A.

I’ve given all the other games B’s for some aspect or another (Michigan = 2nd-half meltdown, UNLV = very slow 1st half, Utah State = special teams, Air Force I don’t remember, might’ve given them an A then)…

But this game… not much to complain about really. Relatively slow start, but it wasn’t too bad (of course, I’m not certain… I missed the beginning). The team then came to play in the middle 2 quarters. Yeah, the Wildcats scored late (twice), but it was on the 2nd team D. While I’d like to see them do better, I’m not going to hold it against the team.

Sadly, the Utes were playing a I-AA team. So the priorities…
1- Pick up a win… hopefully without it being too close
2- Stay injury free
3- Rest your starters for the game next week (short week in this case)
4- Correct any issues (special teams seemed better)

The Utes went 4 for 4… nothing to complain about (though I’d still they rather play a D-I team)

The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".

It's the first time "A" is running neck and neck with "B".

Which I find interesting, because I gave it a B.

It appears Ute fans are being more hard on this win than the media. From what I can tell, it didn’t cost Utah anything in the polls or in the BlogPoll (I’ve been looking at other bloggers’ picks and Utah has moved up pretty high in many of their polls).

Thursday is the first statement game since Michigan. I just hope we come to play.
