A win for one is a win for all!! -- Part II
Continued from: A win for one is a win for all!
The first week began innocent enough, with Miami (OH) submitting to perennial bottom dweller Vanderbilt, lowering the guard of the BCS cartel to the onslaught that was about to befall them. The calm before the storm was soon to be broken.
While Bowling Green exposed the weaknesses of an overrated foe and Memphis was forced down by an unexpected show of force, the focus of this weeks attack was at Michigan.
The most historic program, most titles, most wins and best all time PCT, was set to appear in a moment of weakness. Utah stepped up to beat them at their own game. Dominating the lines while using raw power and speed to vanquish them, Utah looked like the dominant power of old. Penalties and mistakes made the score closer than the game really was. No one could question who the better team was that day.
As all eyes were stunned by this game, East Carolina fired shots that rang in the ears far and wide. Virginia Tech has fallen! Elsewhere as well, the ACC had been dealt a serious blow.
Louisiana Tech ended Mississippi State’s banter about an SEC West run. Perhaps the most startling of all was Arkansas State’s coup over Texas A&M.
An epic 5 wins led to the final show down of the week. Traveling across the country, needing to make a layover to refuel the plane, Fresno State was set to face Rutgers. After a scoreless half all were left pondering whether the steam had run out. Was the uprising a one day show or had a more serious attack been launched? Finally, Fresno State emerged from its slumber and emerged a 17 point victor!
6 BCS teams were felled and the tone has been set for the season ahead!
This week the struggle continues. Washington, Texas A&M, Minnesota and South Florida are the primary focus. Several other strikes have been quietly prepared. Will East Carolina repeat its success?
Three teams now lie in waiting amongst the top 25, along the road to the BCS capital. The fate of each is tied to the rest. The battle cry rings loud and proud:
A WIN FOR ONE IS A WIN FOR ALL!

I Love Your Premise
I cannot, however, root for Miami (OH) to beat Michigan. I want Michigan to destroy them. Otherwise I want non-BCS teams to win. And, as always, go Utes!

Premise takes BCS non-AQ over personal allegiance.
A strong Michigan is great for Utah, unless they get to the top 14. Pulling for BYU over Washington goes against my true heart, but from the premise, and the good of the MWC it is a tolerable evil.
Last week BCS non-AQ conferences went 6-13 against BCS AQ conferences, and i thought they would be doing good to win 4-5. With 28 games this week(now that the Troy game has been postponed) the expectation should be 6-7 wins with 9 needed to keep up the current pace.
3-4 of the five games mentioned would not be unexpected. Marshall, Temple, Florida International, San Jose State, Akron, Buffalo, LA Tech, Kent State, Houston and Nevada all have games that could turn ugly for the supposedly superior team.
Like I said at the start, I have a strange feeling this is they year…

...
BYU over anyone? Never.
Agreed with Ute in DC about Michigan… can’t bring myself to root of Miami (OH)… especially because I’m a fan of resume ranking.
The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".
