Alabama has been in the same position as the '08-'09 Utes

I understand how Utah fans could be hot under the collar about going undefeated and not receiving the AP #1 spot and the National Championship. Just look at the 1966 Alabama team. It went 10-0 and was ranked the #3 team in the final AP poll. We don't consider 1966 as one of our National Championships and Utah shouldn't consider 2008 as it's National Championship season. Sure, Alabama fans are still bothered by the fact that Michigan State and Notre Dame both had ties and were placed in the #1 and #2 spots. So if Utah fans want to write in there record books that they were National Champions in 2008 then Alabama fans will award ourselves our 13th National Championship and three national titles in a row '64, '65, and '66. A feat that no other team in college football has achieved. ROLL TIDE!

We're not going to claim the national title from 2008 in 40 years.

But the slight is still relatively recent, so don’t be surprised if we keep talking about it until we win our next national title, or at least for the next 10 years, whichever comes first.

Everyone hates a pink-shirt-wearing communist.

Utah '08

I have had read a few comments from Bama fans on my post on RollBamaRoll and I want to say that I do not want to take anything away from Utah’s season. Utah went 13-0 and I myself think (like a lot of people) that Utah should be the #1 team in the country. You beat the stuffing out of us and you deserve the #1. I did not intend to offend any Ute fans. Sorry if it came across that way.

The difference...

between this year and that year is that there were essentially two other teams that were undefeated. Yes, they had their one tie each. But technically hadn’t lost a game. While this year, every other team in college football lost at least one game.

GO UTES!!

Ok, how about '77....

Notre Dame was #5 before they’re bowl game and Alabama was #3. #1 and #2 lost and Alabama and Notre Dame both won their bowl games; however, Alabama was jumped by Notre Dame.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
