How's that for not a "real BCS conference!?"
IN YOUR FACE SEC, ALABAMA, AND THE BCS!!!! You cannot say that the Utes are not good enough to be in the National Title conversation after that dominating win over a top SEC team. It wasn't a fluke, it wasn't luck, it was just total domination by the University of Utah. Alabama had only given up 13 sacks all season to the "best teams, best players, and best conference" and gave up EIGHT to a team that's not even in a "real BCS conference." Not to mention where was the rushing attack led by Bama's huge, cannot be stopped offensive line. Don't even comment about how, "well our best lineman was out, or we didn't have our best game." Don't make excuses for your team's lack to execute, lack of energy, and lack of showing up to play at all. In the first quarter it was over. Yeah you did have an awesome play by and amazing player in Javier Arenas's Punt return TD, but other than that, your team flat out sucked it up. Utah showed that they deserve everything they earned this year, and proved they should have had the chance to prove how good they are. Congrats Utes!!!

BCS
I think if Boise State joins the Mountain West then the MWC deserves BCS status. 4 good teams in Boise State, BYU, TCU and Utah. Congrats from a TCU fan! You made the MWC look good tonight!

I agree.
I would put those 4 teams up against the best in the big east (it doesn’t deserve to be capitalized when discussing CFB) any day.
However, I think automatic bids should just be done away with. Congrats to TCU too on a nice win over said Broncos. And you forgot to mention CSU we are on are way back ;) sort of.
Congrats again to the Utes!
Just passing the time until spring.

absolutely, agreed.
even though i hate broncos and their arrogant fans, it’d be awesome with broncos joined mwc. i also hope the bottom feeders in mwc such as wy, sdsu, nm, etc would improve a lot from the next year.

The bottom feeder that beat Tennessee?
I agree with your points, I hope those things do happen. I just like the thought that the teams MWC fans want to improve still beat Tennessee. Nice job UTES!

I was at that game.
Wyoming was only a consistent passing game away from being an 8 or 9 win team themselves. The MWC deserves a lot more respect than they get. But I’d love to see Boise State jump on over. Perhaps if Nevada and one other good team came on over, the MWC could arrange a conference championship game and make things even more interesting. (Maybe Fresno or New Mexico State. Just not Hawaii. Ever.)

If we add Boise and Fresno we need to add one more (I'd say Houston) and got to a conference championship.
Hold the championship in the home stadium of the team with the better conference record and use whatever tiebreakers you need (head-to-head, best ooc record, best SOS, etc).
I’ve discussed this before, but the best way to do it is non-geographically as follows:
Division A:
Utah
Wyoming
Boise
Houston
SDSU
New Mexico
Division B:
BYU
TCU
CSU
AF
Fresno
UNLV
Then you make one guaranteed cross-division rivalry game:
Utah/BYU
Fresno/Boise
TCU/Houston
UNLV/SDSU
Wyoming/CSU
AF/UNM (okay, this one sucks, but who else do you pair them with?)
And everyone plays two cross-division teams, rotating home and away every year. Personally, I think you rotate in two new teams every year, so you play each out-division team twice every five years, but you can rotate in one new team every year so that the home-and-home don’t get split up by 5 years.
Everyone hates a pink-shirt-wearing communist.
