i hope south carolina loses and joins both auburn and ole miss.......

outside the top 25. that would leave the sec with only three teams in the top 25. utah crushes a unlv team that has already given up. 45 -17. bad week for the sec b/c of things i already said and army beat vanderbilt. that must be army’s first win over an sec team in over 20 years. houston beat miss. state. that is three bcs wins for houston too. to bad they lost to utep. utah will definitely be around 20th or 21 st in nation in both polls when they play tcu.

Army beat Vandy in 1990, 19 years ago.

The only other SEC-Army game in the last 20 years was a 29-32 loss to Auburn in the 1996 Independence Bowl, giving ARmy the lead 2-1 over the last 20 years.

Army also beat Vanderbilt in 1988.

They also beat Tennessee in 1986, had a 1 point loss to Alabama in the Sun Bowl in 1988 and tied Tennessee in 1984.

Since 1979 Army has done well vs. the SEC, with a 4-2-1 record over the past 30 years.

Between 1970 and 1980 the SEC won all 8 games, with armies next most recent win being a 16-6 win over Vanderbilt in 1969, back when Utah football was feeling the brunt of a 50 year football down turn (starting in the mid 40’s) that would last until the mid 90’s.

Army’s historical results.

hey, i was close and it was off the top of my head.

thanx for the info. i’ll tell you something you might have not noticed. it was armed forces appreciation day on saturday. i noticed it on the tv screen during the army/vandy game. i then took navy – 12 vs rice. i think the final score was around 63 -13. i stopped watching that game 2 minutes into the third quarter. airforce covered vs tcu (+10.5) bc of weather problems and airforce has played 4 straight close games so i took that. also went with the under too 43 and 1/2. a great day for the service academie’s.

Good, now need to crush a few patsies and wax a good AF squad.

Then we might move up, but I don’t see this year’s MWC schedul as being too daunting. Our only chance for a “quality win” was Oregon, especially if they’d not choked at Boise.

We’re out of the BCS as a result, but we could win the MWC and finish ranked which won’t hurt our recruiting.

south florida and okie already out of top 25 with losses today.

nd, south carolina, gt, okie state, mizzou and nebraska are others. with a big win over unlv which i expect i see utah firmly planted at around 22nd or 23rd in bcs poll and maybe higher b/c the computers like utah. sagarin rankings had us around 19th in nation.
