This week was good for teams on the cusp. Not so much for figuring out who to rank, though.

Last week's ballot |
Dropped Out: Nebraska (#15), South Florida (#20), Auburn (#24), Notre Dame (#25).
Firstly, I put Alabama at number one. I was not impressed with either three, but the Tide looked the least bad.
With Virginia Tech's loss, every team pretty much jumped a spot in the top-ten who were behind them. Iowa saw the most movement, jumping to 8th.
I might get hit with the homer card for putting Utah at 16th, but outside of BYU, I don't see how any team behind them that deserves to be ranked ahead of the Utes.
And that was the general problem. I didn't want to rank South Carolina, but I couldn't find someone to take their place.
Nebraska got abused, at home, by Texas Tech. At two losses, they can't remain. South Florida was barely ranked when they lost badly at home to Cincinnati. Auburn has now lost two in a row and Notre Dame, though a valiant effort, went down to defeat for the second time this season.
So who else gets in? Idaho? Yeah right. Basically, with all the parity in college football this year, it's tough finding teams to fill out the complete top-25. Maybe they should go back to making it a top-20.
Thoughts?
