Hot Seat for Coaches? Most Relevant to Utah?
Which Division I coach will be the first to lose their job this season?
Hawkins, Locksley, and Kragthorpe affect Utah the most. Hawkins for competition recruiting, Kragthorpe because he's on our schedule this year, Locksley due to the obvious ties in conference.
Each of these guys has had some trouble of late, or for a long period. The smart money is leaning New Mexico or Colorado's head honchos, Locksley for being out of control, Hawkins for failing to deliver, but none of these guys is safe.
Charlie the Tuna? UNLV's Mike Sanford? O'Leary at UCF?

I voted for Hawkins, but I think he and Sanford are both going to be gone unless they have significant conference runs. Sanford has never won a road conference game, and had 4 consecutive 2 win seasons…not exactly ringing of success down there in UNLV.

Agreed
They’re both gone, but who is first?
I say Locksley.

I'll also wager Hawkins because we play the Buffs in a few years.
You know, if they get that program turned around, that could be a huge game.
I think all the coaches you mentioned, outside of Zook and Locksley will be fired.
Maybe Fridgan, depending on how the Terps finish.
UNLV is done. They just gave up 63 to Reno.
Better question: Any of these programs make a run at Whitt? I could see Colorado looking this way.

i'm amazed that hawkins had his son playing qb again this year.
whittingham would never leave utah for colorado. it would take three years to turn the program around and by then the mwc may have an automatic bid to the bcs. tcu win was good. we need for them to go 12-0. it’s what is best for the mwc. i would love to see them play lsu in the sugar bowl. i would look great on the mwc resume with two wins in bcs bowls over a team from the best conference in the nation. not to mention it would be in their backyard. definite defensive struggle but tcu has pretty much all the same pieces of player personal that utah had when they beat alabama in sugar bowl.

I don't want TCU to go 12-0.
I hope they’re 12-1 by the end of the year, but not 13-0.
A Utah win, even if it means no BCS for the MWC, is all I care about.

I agree, Utes first.
After the last couple weeks and the more than inadequate showing from the lower half of the conference, I have found myself not caring about the MWC and instead wishing the PAC-10 would come-a-calling and change its name to the PAC-12.

sorry i'm a huge utah fan. they don't have the horses this year. they have injuries to key players
can’t you see what is best for the conference? especially now that utah even has a loss already. they beat byu and play in vegas bowl. why would you you not want tcu to go 13-0? i want another sugar bowl appearance or other bcs game. utah can still go 11-2 beat a pac ten team and extend the bowl streak to nine. longest in the nation. it makes no sense to me that you don’t want what is best for the mwc. see it as a benefit for the future of the mwc. don’t you want the automatic bcs bowl berth? that would help utah in the future and give the better teams in the mountain west a chance for a national championship. tcu #10 in the country. boise state fell to 6th b/c the played a fcs team they did not dominate. just my point of view. peace out.

Utah wins trump everything.
I don’t care if it gets TCU a national championship, I want Utah to win every game. I don’t even care if Utah has no wins and TCU is undefeated, I want a Utah win. Utah wins trump all other considerations. Utah fans root for Utah every game.

Yup.
Why should I care what TCU does? If they beat Utah, fine, I’ll cheer for them to win out. But I can tell you none of their fans were hoping they’d lose that game last year just for the sake of getting Utah into the BCS.
I’m a Ute first and then I selectively choose who I root for.

Bingo
I hope we beat them like a drum.

When I read this I got a picture of Foghorn Leghorn:

I live in Tallahassee
And Foghorn Leghorn is precisely how the man comes off at times. A kinder, gentler version though.

Al Groh of Virginia
The Old man can’t coach worth a darn……and it’s not just the coach. They need to gut the whole system (athletic director, assistant coaches). They also need to stop giving the old man another chance when the Cavaliers get hot for a bit then go back to epically sucking.

I think he is safe for now.
a 47-7 win will do that.
