I think TCU faced a tougher schedule...

But it’s hard to say. The Utes weren’t tested at all. Part of that had to do with the fact they were so dominant. But, as mentioned, they didn’t face really any good teams that year. The Mountain West was probably at its worst as a conference outside of Utah.

With that said, your statistics give the edge to Utah. Barely. I think, in the end, ’04 would win over ’09 TCU by 5-10 points on a neutral field. Especially if they were coached by Urban Meyer.

I'd like to think...

that our Utes were better. However TCU just destroyed a good Utah team that was better than any team Utah played in ’04.

I think the Utes offense was great that year, but I’d give the slight edge to TCU because I think they have the better all around team. They are the whole package imo.

the better question is tcu better than last year's utah team

that remains to be seen but i hope tcu puts the beatdown on anybody they play.

yes i am obsessive, obnoxious, in your face and all about covering the spread. those are my good qualities.

What about 08'

You kind of have to take into consideration the 2008 Utah team that beat pretty close to the same team TCU has now. So look at it from that perspective; who was better 2008 Utah or 2004 Utah? In the end I think that the 2004 Utah team would have beaten this year’s TCU team
