Game Preview

Complete Coverage >

What to expect when Utah has the ball: Whatever they want. Seriously, it's the Lobos. They'll use this as a learning experience for Jordan Wynn. I really don't see why they can't open it up a bit and get the offense some momentum heading into TCU.

What to expect when New Mexico has the ball: Probably not much. The Lobos aren't an offensive threat. In fact, they're abysmal all around.

How Utah wins: Show up and don't turn the ball over. Not hard. If Utah loses, it will trump UNLV as the worst loss in program history.

Lucky G. O'Utes is ready for some Loobs (here).

Keys to the game:

1. Don’t look ahead

With TCU looming, it would be easy to overlook the Lobo’s, It really doesn’t matter if they are 0-8, If the Utes don’t put their focus into the game, anything can happen.

2. The Utes need a complete game

This game is the perfect opportunity to tune up the engine if you will, bottom line: the Utes need to play four GOOD quarters of football on offense cause we’re gonna need all the momentum we can get going into next week at Ft. Worth. The Utes also need to finish drives.

3 the O-line

If Jordan Wynn does get the start, the offensive line needs to man up and execute, If any quarterback is to have success, his o-line needs to get the job done. The O-line also needs to maintain focus and not make silly mistakes in the red zone.

I fully admit that New Mexico used to worry me every year. Like Air force, they were a constant thorn in our side. having said that, it would be great if we absolutely killed them. My money says their new coach won’t stay for long thus this match up could look very different next year. Utah will win this one

the n.m. coach is soo hard up for defensive players he is suiting up that woman

on n.m. soccer team who took numerous shots and flagrant fouls vs the byu womens soccer team. the lobo defense need her intensity. it’s all over you tube if you want to see it. espn also showed her 7-8 fouls she committed.

She's make a great LB

Maybe we need a woman’s football league to help with title IX. They could play in the spring.

Don't look now....

but BYU is kicking Wyoming’s @$$, 31-0 and it isn’t even halftime.

Not a surprise...

Wyoming is really bad. I knew they were pretty bad a few weeks ago. I think I even said they would have trouble winning out after their win over New Mexico.

This from RaiderUte over on FB...

Per my buddy James in the DFW: CBS 11 News has learned ESPN College Game Day will be in Fort Worth next Saturday, since Iowa lost today and there is much less interest in their showdown with Ohio State next week. (Of course, TCU needs to beat San Diego State first!)

tcu is destroying sdsu. iowa los,t notre dame lost and oregon is going to lose

it is working out perfectly for tcu and utah. utah needs to put 40 points on these clowns.

Good for TCU and Bosie State.

Clearing out that top group of teams.

Pitt will lose now we just need two of those top three teams to fall and TCU or Boise State could go to the NCG

So far.....

Wynn looks a lot more composed in the pocket.

by GambitUte on Nov 7, 2009 5:00 PM MST reply actions

So far so good

Wynn has 200+ yards at halftime…..even though were playing 0-8 NM, The offense is looking better

by GambitUte on Nov 7, 2009 5:31 PM MST reply actions

as long as utah wins handily, 34-14 which is doubling the score they should be

at least #12 in bcs poll b/c oregon has two losses and lsu has two losses. it also depends on how far iowa falls and if osu rises b/c they beat an over-rated penn state team. could be as high as 11th but i would expect 12th when they play tcu.

by wolfmanshowlforever on Nov 7, 2009 5:43 PM MST reply actions

i already said utah should put at least 40 points on these clowns. and they did

it was 17-7 at halftime. i just doubled the score. what do you think happens next week in fort worth?

by wolfmanshowlforever on Nov 7, 2009 7:13 PM MST up reply actions

jordan wynn did good for his first start. it's a little different on the road.

i hope utah puts up a good fight. i still think tcu wins by 2 td’s. utah can win the rest of their games and still be 11-2. it keeps the bowl streak alive at nine. longest in nation. 17 game home winning streak. next year utah can go undefeated b/c they have pitt who i think will beat cincy and win the big east and will be ranked very high next season. nd even without j.c. still is a nationwide audience for utah to display to the whole country and media that they are one of the best teams in the nation. peace.
