Carlon Brown is a spaceman, Utes beat TCU
Yeah, it's late, but what're you gonna do about it?
Last night, the Utes picked up a key road win as they defeated the TCU Horned Frogs 62-54. It was an important win because it kept Utah atop the conference, tied with San Diego State. With only a handful of games left, every victory becomes more and more important, especially if they're on the road against an improving team that defeated you last year. Which is exactly what happened the last time the Utes made a trip down to Fort Worth to take on the Frogs.
But that was last year and this year, Utah is proving to be a force in conference play. Now that the second half officially begins Saturday against Wyoming in Laramie, the Utes will be playing for a conference championship down the stretch, something probably unthinkable to many at the beginning of the season.
Leading the Utes in their victory was Carlon Brown, who not only made SportsCenter with his amazing dunk, but had a team-high 14 points. For the Frogs, who held a slim five point lead at the half, Kevin Langford had a game-high 22 points. But it wasn't enough, as the Utes outscored TCU 35-22 in the second half, blowing the game open late and cruising to the eight point victory.
What this win means is that the Utes continue to control their own destiny. Saturday's game against the Cowboys could be the difference between a first place and second place finish, which in return could be the difference between an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and trying to win a bid through the conference tournament.
Anyway, even though the victory was nice, Brown's dunk stole the show...

MWC will get 3 bids this year and maybe even 4.
Because the other mid-majors suck and other major conferences are having down years. SDSU, Utah, BYU, and UNLV should all make it.

I hope you're right.
I think UNLV might win the tourney, so if Utah and SDSU finish tied at the top, that’s three right there.

Ive only seen them once
But UNLV didn’t look very good. We had half our team out or injured and we lead most of the game. Tim Shelton didn’t even make the trip. Lorenzo Wade has the flu/bronchitis and didn’t even participate in pre-game warmups. Ryan Amoroso has a sore back. Richie Williams had a MRI on his knee the day before because he could barely walk. We led by double digits most of the game. Maybe I’m just being a homer or they had a down game but we had backups in for a good portion of the game and we still won at their own place where nobody in the MWC had beaten them there since we beat them there in 2006.

Utah nearly beat UNLV in Vegas, but melted down.
Held an eight point lead at the half and things crumbled, but a lot of that comes from the fact our last coach was mental midget and unfortunately instilled that same mental weaknesses into these current players, though they are getting far tougher up there.
I think it’ll either be SDSU winning it out right, or Utah and the Aztecs sharing the title.
