Utes look to again wrap up a share of the MWC tonight

This is another big game for Utah, especially with last Saturday's loss to BYU still fresh in their minds. The Utes can again try to wrap up at least a share of the Mountain West title with a victory tonight (most likely an outright championship), while bolstering their seeding in the NCAA Tournament, whch appears to be damaged by that loss to the Cougars.

Hopefully Utah can win this one, but it won't be easy. The Lobos haven't lost at home in conference play and have won six of their last seven. Like Utah, they also are in the hunt for the conference championship and a victory tonight would create a three-way tie at the top between Utah, BYU and New Mexico.

Let's make sure that doesn't happen.

C'mon Utes, wrap it up!

It's been a long time...

since we have won in the PIt. I’m feeling it tonight though. Utes get it done behind Nevill and Brown.

I’m calling my shot. Utes 69 – Lobos 61. (In my best Jim Boylen screaming voice) GO UTES!

New Mexico struggled Saturday against CSU.

They won in 2 OTs, so they are beatable.

I’m just hoping we don’t come out flat like we did in the second half against BYU.

Well the first half was very similar to what we saw in Provo.

In fact, this game looks like an exact repeat of the performance against the Cougars.

A slow start by both teams, mostly due to poor shooting. Utah starts hitting their shots, New Mexico struggles, Utah builds a decent lead, but wilts in the final few minutes as the Lobos claw back into it.

And now they trail at the break.

Hopefully the second half will prove to be different, but this feels like a replay of the BYU game.
