Fall camp day 4 links
The defense continues pushing the intensity level at practice. But there are signs Utah's offense is coming around and making great strides as fall camp enters week two.

To go along with the Schramm story
I think people will like Schramm tons more than they liked Ludwig, assuming the offense isn’t horrid. He’s a much more warm and outgoing guy than Ludwig ever was and will be.
Sure, 80% of it is based on performance, but Schramm’s personality is much more suited to the PR side of a high-profile job like this.
I agree.
He certainly is embracing the fans and that can never hurt.
I think Ludwig dug his grave a bit when he walked in and said they’d change things up. Not to say I agree with what came from that in regards to the fans, but it got him off on the wrong foot.
The lackluster 2005 season – where Utah seemed to dominate in a ton of offensive categories except scoring — really turned people against him and it was something he could never overcome.
Offensive Line
Not set, still experimenting with positions. Took Taylor out of Center where he plays best. Not good. As I pointed out, Oregon’s O-line is farther along this year at this point then last year. That does not mean they have teh same level of talent—three of their linemen went to the NFL—but this is starting to concern me since our O line was suupposed to save our inexperienced QBs this year.
They moved Taylor back to center
and put Watts at guard.
Like you said, they’re still tinkering with different combinations, but if Taylor is at guard and Williams/Stevens is at center, it will be because the coaches determined that’s the best combination.
I’m not worried about the offensive line.
Also...
didn’t see this linked, but it looks like Ryan Lacy is headed to corner.
I’m very excited to see what Asiata can do this year. I think he’s going to have a huge season.

Quick question...?
Would we have been better off with 1 coordinator or 2? Personally, I was initially concerned with the Wittingham’s initial 2 coordinator idea and am happy we settled on Schramm.

I don't like the two-headed coordinator idea.
Just seems so much bad could stem from it.
I don’t know, though.
Never seen it work
But, when you have a coach like Whittingham, he’s obviously involved in the defense so you do have somethingof a "super coordinator’; and his D coordinator who is the main guy running the drills. The separation from the two hierarchically saves it. When you have players deferring equally to two? It’s like having divorced parents, the kids play them off each other, jealousies arise . . . .
USC did it a few seasons ago.
Between Kiffin and Sarkisian. When Kiffin left for the Oakland Raiders, I got the impression SC fans were happy. They did not like the co-OC deal.
