The Morning Blitz: Daily Utah links

We're now less than a week away from the start of the season.

It's also the final weekend before college football dominates the landscape for the next few months. So enjoy, because I think we're all going to be football zombies in seven days.

Hard for me to take...

that guy seriously after hearing him say he thinks this is the year Notre Dame gets to the BCS. Really? I think they will be lucky to finish 8-4.

Man do I want the Ducks to come out and beat Boise right off the bat so we don’t have to listen to all the Boise St. talk all year long.

ND does have an easy schedule...

If they only go 8-4, Weis should be canned.

The schedule is set up for a 10-2 regular season (at worst) and if this happens, they’ll get into the BCS. Just like in 2005 & 2006.

Not so sure...

I don’t think it’s a tough schedule, but I’m not sure I’d call it easy either.

They are @ Michigan, Purdue, Pitt and Stanford.
And have Michigan St., USC, and BC at home.

I still think they lose 4 of those 7 games.

And yes, I think this is going to be the last year for Weis.

YEWTS= EASY SCHEDULE

When was the last time the yewts had an easy as a schedule like this? I believe last year… Oregon and louisville are both garbage non-conference teams that you could easily slip a win by. What is your guys’ strategy? To try and get the easiest way out of getting another bcs? I hate to break it to you but it’s not like that at all. You actually have to work your way up to the top like everybody else. With your easy schedule, you will finish 3rd this year in the conference.

P.S. Promise me one thing Yewt fans: When you fail towards the end of this year, don’t go and hide in your caves like you usually do. Or you could keep representing how you do, and disgrace yourselves more if you do hide like babies.

First of all: you think our schedule was weak last year? tell that to the TCU team we beat who beat your sorry butts into next week, Tell that to the Oregon St. team who beat USC and was one win away from playing in the Rose Bowl. Just because you boys have mighty Oklahoma on your schedule (who BTW is gonna crush you) that doesn’t make you the better team.

Secondly: before you call us “disgraced”, ask yourself this. We gave the MWC plenty of credit with our BCS win. What favors have your Cougars done?…..oh, yeah. lose to a mid-grade Pac-10 team in the Vegas Bowl. (what would we ever do with out you guys?)

Thirdly: before you try and play the “weak schedule to the BCS” card, look at your own damn schedule from last year. Northern Iowa, Washington, UCLA and Utah St……yeah , real power houses there bud.
too bad the plan your accusing us of backfired on you.

Fourthly: going on to a Ute fan page and posting trash talk doesn’t make you smart or brave, it pretty much solidifies your stupidity. Especially when the rivals your trash talking made your golden boy QB look like a turkey in the Holy War of 2008.

Well . . .

This is an interesting, if childish, rant. Probably only a troll, there are many trolls at BYU, they call them “Co-eds”, cute, don’t you think?

We scheduled Louisville when they were considered a sure fire team to be in contention for top 25 year in and year out. Oregon is in the top 25 every year and would beat the Cougar’s brains out.

It’s inconceivable that anyone would say that playing Oregon in Autzen stadium—one of the nastiest venues in all of college ball—was easy. Wow, I thought education and knowledge were important to Mormons?

I’m sorry if we took the spotlight off of your team just when you had fired up the mirror ball to “Dancing Queen” and popped a bottle of Meier’s Sparkling apple juice, but Utah’s never been so arrogant as to label their season, and certainly not “Quest for Perfection” (which, oddly turned out to be "Quest for Protection when reviewing TCU and Utah—poor Max Hall, he looked so sad out there).

See, having a great Football Team was never important for us, we knew we would always be a little old state school in a state that did not grow any talent. But to BYU fans, having a team that could make them proud was a way of spitting in the world’s eye, like you tried to do here. It was a way of saying “we matter, we’re important” because there is no inferiority complex like that which is manifested in this little missive of yours my dear friend. I could never understand why the LDS in Utah felt like they had soemthing to prove, such a big chip on their shoulder (or perhaps they’re just happy to see me?).

It’s amateurish, cheap, and really below someone who is supposed to call themselves LDS.

Anyway, whatever you wish to mouth off about, I want BYU to beat Oklahoma. And I for one am glad that Utah has never, ever in our history had the kind of scandals like those that plagued the supposedly “morally superior” school down south. You know, like letting Jim McMahon break the honor code then refusing him a degree for same the second his eligibility was up (that was really the most rank hypocrisy), like having guys forego their missions because they are thin on D line, like the little “oopsy” last year with trying to get Manti Te’o drunk so he’d stay in Happy Valley. . . . . or was it gay sex, I forget . . . .

It’s simple transference, you’re embarrassed and ashamed, so you hate us instead of changing your ways, hey. We understand moral hypocrisy, after all: it’s really prominent in your own scripture at 2 Nephi 31:13, Alma 10:17, Alma 34:28, D&C 41:5, etc.

You know, all this hatred and meanness you’re espousing, does someone need to see their Bishop?

Good luck Cougars, have a great season.

Well that's something...

I do love the trolls – they make things interesting.

Work our way up to what? How many BCS bowl berths have the Cougars received over the last decade?

That’s right…
