Is it a surprise to anyone 71% of Yahoo! users have picked Utah to beat Oregon?

I didn't expect to see that. Especially since 71% isn't even a close number.

Surprised?

I'm guessing it is because Utah is the higher ranked team

The higher ranking is likely to impress a casual fan. I assume the yahoo voters are casual fans. The money in Vegas is still in favor of the Ducks.

Yep...

I’m still a little surprised though. It’s nice to see even casual fans give the Utes little respect. A lot better than them saying why the hell is a team from Utah ranked that high, that’s for sure.

I think people are really down on Oregon right now.

Even though we haven’t had the strongest showings against USU and SJSU, Oregon has looked pretty pitiful against Boise St. and again against a bottom rung Big 10 team. I think most people figure if Purdue can walk into Autzen and almost pull out the win, then we should have a pretty decent chance.

Yahoo

I remember seeing that Yahoo users picked us as national champions, they respect us for what we did last year. I think that has a lot to do with it.

i'll say it again after usc, utah gets the most publicity out west

this year byu is getting more and deservedly so. cal is the only other pac ten team to get any publicty. here is how the rest of the season goes. florida gators will play usc trojans in the nc game in the rose bowl. east vs west. sec vs pac-ten. 38 million people vs 21 million people (population of each state, massive tv ratings). watch the cal vs usc game closely and i guarentee you cal gets more penalties and at more critical times. the first rose bowl game will either have byu or tcu vs either ohio state or cal. also something else special can happen. three out of the four of these teams can go 12-0 byu, tcu boise state and houston. that would be perfect in my world but not to the john swoffords of the world. i think utah can win 10 games realisticly. i’ll put boise state in a bcs game orange or fiesta. hopefully fiesta b/c i think they would play texas and beat them. to me texas and penn state are the most overated teams in the top ten. texas allowed la. moroe 20 points in a game and they were not scrub points. wyoming was in the game until halftime. penn s. has not covered either spread against lackluster opponents and people are putting money on temple this week. the spread is going down just like both those programs are peace out! ramble on!
