Utes tumble out of AP, Coaches polls
It's not a surprise, but I had hoped they had enough clout to hang on at the 24 or 25th spot.
The coaches were much kinder to the Utes than the media, dropping them to only 28th. Which means they very well could re-enter the poll with a win over Louisville - depending on what happens.
The media, on the other hand, really decided to stick it to Utah. They fell to 35th.
Ouch.
BYU fell to 19th and 20th in both polls, while TCU is at 15th and 14th.

Let's be Honest
The Utes were overrated. They certainly have the talent to be a top notch team, but I don’t think we were fair to them to expect them to have a strong follow up from last season. They just lost too many people and the experience just isn’t there yet. I think the sting of this loss will help our team really identify and work on our weaknesses.
No, you're right.
The Utes weren’t a top-25 team. They got to that point because of what they did last year.
But I do believe at the end of the season, they’re more likely to be ranked than not.
Lot to prove...
Oregon was the favorite in this game for a reason. Utes hadn’t proved anything with their first two wins and Oregon had a good history of beating non-conference ranked teams in their building. Louisville will be a good challenge next week, they nearly won their first Big East game on the road vs. Kentucky yesterday.
