Asiata's injury

Nothin' like a season-ending injury to kill the buzz of a great win. I could use an overtly sexual metaphor here involving a hot chick and catching STDs to clarify my point, but I think I'm above that.

Oh well. The Utes should be all right. Well I think so, anyway. Matt Asiata was an important player, but I think Eddie Wide proved last night he's capable of stepping up and leading this team. I'm actually more disappointed in the fact Asiata is a senior and probably won't see the field again.

What do you think?

Asiata's out and you think?
Tough break for Asiata & the team, but the Utes should be fine.

Utes won't implode, but they won't be nearly as good as they could have been.

What are the chances...?

What are the chances we can get gim back on a medical redshirt? I mean, we still have Ray Stowers who is in his 6th or 7th year. It sucks he is hurt, but hopefully we can get him back for next season. If not, it’s a tough break but I’m sure we will do fine. Not that we won’t miss him. Especially with Shakerin hurt also. I don’t know what to think with Smithson in the backfield.

GO UTES!!

Whittingham said he'll try...

Who knows, though. If we do get him back, it might be a blessing in that it could make the offense even better in 2010.

I think we’ll be fine this season. We’re still on track to win at least 9-regular season games. Glad we have a bye. Go in, beat CSU and then UNLV and we’ll be positioned nicely for a late surge to finish the season.

sucks

For a player that worked as hard as asiata did in offseason to be a feature back this season to see him go down is just a tough loss regardless of who we have as backups. I really hope we can get him back for a chance next season.

I feel bad for him....

This was Asiata’s season to shine …I really hope they can get him back for for 2010…any updates on Shak? I think him and Wide can step up and perform well with Matt going down.

Next year...

If he does get another year. We will be watching Wide and hopefully Shak the rest of the year. What happens if he comes back? Will he have to share the carries again like last year with Wide now? I guess we will just have to see how it plays out. Hopefully he will be able to play next year so we can watch him pound on both Pitt and ND.

GO UTES!!
