Oregon issues

I'm sure you're all aware of the meltdown that happened last night with the Oregon Ducks. Not only did they lay an egg against an almost-as-bad Boise State team, they lost their star TB LeGarrette Blount for the season after he decked a Broncos player.

It's a mess right now in Eugene and it most certainly will impact the Utes as they play Oregon in week three.

Does this change the game at all? I've been skeptical of Utah's chances and right now, especially with how good the offense looked Thursday, I'm feeling a bit more confidence. Of course, it's just one game and the Ducks are tough at home, but how much of an impact will this have? Do you feel it's gone up to a probable win now?

Maybe not, but 3-0 seems far more likely today than it did just 24 hours ago.

Crazy how things change

I was also skeptical for the game in Oregon. I knew we had the potential to win but didn’t know if we could do it. Now I see Oregon’s offense a lot like what we saw last night with probably a lot better recievers. But Oregon’s QB is quick and slippery like Borel. That is the one thing I am worried about. We struggled with Borel’s quickness last night, especially in the first half. Hopefully by week three our defense won’t come out as slow though. I think we have a lot better chance now that we have seen both teams play. Oregon apparently looked terrible (I was at RES so I didn’t see it), but their stats were pathetic. I like Utah to win that game more now than I did.

GO UTES!!

We always had a chance up there

But after watching their Offense implode, yeah, I like our chances better.

They won’t be the same team at home though by game 3, they’re historically really slow starters.

I still really think...

that will be a tough game for the Utes to win. Hope I’m wrong, we shall see.

Oregon : 2009 :: Michigan : 2008

This is far worse for Boise State than Utah.

Yep

Because Utah also had Oregon State (coming off of an upset of #1 USC) and 2 ranked teams in the conference (TCU, BYU). Boise has none of that.

Especially if we beat BYU

If Oregon turns out ot be a dud, BSU will 1) get nada, 2) become a second NON BCS team in the mix and that would be so cool.
