I had hoped for 7th, but 8th they are. Utah moved up a spot this week most likely on the backs of their stronger-than-expected 7th spot in both the Coaches and Harris Poll.

TCU, Utah's opponent in two weeks, is fourth in the BCS. Boise State is 3rd, while Oregon comes in second and Auburn tops the rankings. 

The Utes are still behind a one-loss Alabama team. They probably won't pass the Tide unless they drop another game this season.

The good news is that Michigan State and Missouri play road games this week. If all goes well, Utah could be sixth in the BCS next week.
