Utes 6th in both the AP and Coaches' Poll
Utah moved up a spot to sixth in today's Coaches' Poll after their close win over the Air Force Falcons Saturday night.
It marks their highest regular season ranking since they came in at 5th after thirteen weeks of play in the 2004 season.
In the 2008, the Utes only made it as high as 7th in the major polls before the bowl season started.

Shh... Do you hear that?
It is the faint sound in the distance of BSU fans starting to cry. With a Utah win next week it pulls them within 1 of BSU in the BCS. If we win the remaining 3 it puts us ahead of them simply by strength of schedule. Not saying the Utes would go to the NCG, even with a 1 loss Auburn, Oregon, Alabama but we could be making our third trip to a BCS bowl.
Don’t forget, 2008 the Utes had far closer games and almost everyone was tight. Remember a 13-10 victory over UNM!!! Yet we still came through when we had to.
No doubt that if TCU wins they will jump them next week. They have a win with the same OSU team and a Baylor team ranked and in contention for the Big 12 south.
After next week it will all become clear. I just hope I will have Rose colored glasses to see with.
Don't talk about roses to loudly...
my BSU coworkers that have lost hope in the NCG are allready booking hotels in Cali. I would really hate to crush their blue and orange hearts so soon in the season. Anyways, we have some Frogs to fry first. All tthat matters now is TCU.

Remember when . . .
New Mexico had a coach, a defense, and enough offense to go regularly to bowl games?
That was the difference, not how much better this team is.

Yeah, guys. Start working on your signs now...
…And make ’em clever. The signs at USC yesterday were atrocious (but, my God, that was the most off-the-rails ep of Gameday ever).
try this ..

espn had to take away signs that were too offensive for tv. lol. thats true.
i saw one that said if you can’t beat them, sanction them.
Utah and Boise State: The two best teams in the nation. Both undefeated and with a combined 12-2 against the spread. Why do canadians stick together? The same reason why Chris Horodecki turned his body and face around in his first WEC fight. J.J. my puta and my personal dartboard. Brock Lesnar the most over-rated MMA fighter there is. Even more over-rated than Kimbo Slice.

There should be a thread
where everyone can share ideas for gameday signs.
I cry no tears for the Boise Donkeys
Especially after their students rushed to the Boise capital after they beat Va Tech, acting like they won the National Championship. The media gets what they deserve too after crowning them National Champs after week one. Good riddance. I laugh at Pat Forde now.
Well, next Sunday
Someone in the MWC will have a damned sight better SOS.

Purty sure if Alabama and Auburn win out that the winner of the Iron Bowl will play Oregon in the Championship game with the loser going to the Sugar Bowl.
Nope
Because the winner of the iron Bowl will play in the SEC championship game and if Auburn or Alabama win the SEC C’ship—then and only then will one of them be in the NCSG.
So, say Auburn loses the SEC west to Alabama? Alabama still has to get past say Sakerlina in the SEC C’ship game. If auburn was demolished by Alabama, and Alabama failed ot win the SEC? Why take either in the NCSG?

Exactly
They could both end up with two losses, it’s a tough conference but that Newton kid, he does look like the real deal.

Yeah
Auburn is interesting because they haven’t played a complete team. The same could even be said for Oregon, although Stanford looks pretty deadly on all sides of the ball to me. I think Oregon might find itself mortal against the grade-A defense that Arizona puts out there, and I think Auburn is due for a stumbling block.
Yeah, but . . .
Alabama is playing in a conference that hasn’t really lived up to its billing yet and they can’t get into a track meet with Auburn. Auburn can’t stop Alabama, I agree. Can Alabama stop Auburn? They are an OK defense, but not nearly as dominant as they were last year and that’s playing a few offenses that frankly were not that good this year. If Alabama can control the line, they win easy. If it is a battle or close call? Newton will get some.
