We won the game, yet you wouldn't know it from the comments Zoobs are littering teh internetz with. According to them, Utah didn't win it, BYU lost it. This naturally causes many Ute fans to chime in, and the next thing you know, we look like insecure pricks with something to prove. Facts are, as they say, facts and the fact of the final score is 17-16, UTAH. The only thing we have to prove is that we are the better class of fan; the team proved everything else for us.
We all know that BYU fans are mix of decent churchgoers, out-of-state Jack-mos from backwards areas of Idaho and delusional douchebags without lives beyond video games, church-sanctioned "work" and BYU. It's time to leave those latter two groups behind. We've tried reasoning with them for the better part of two decades now and there's just no way to penetrate the spin they create for themselves. They're a lost cause and they're certainly not sports fans. From now on, it's best to just ignore 'em. The rivalry lives on, but we've reached another level and it's high time we started acting like it.
Besides, we have bigger problems: namely, our own band-wagon-jumping, and often fair-weathered, fandom. The TCU game proved one horrible truth and that's that we have some real shitty people out there calling themselves "fans". We need to really work on this because fans of other PAC 12 teams--and the University of Utah--expect us to act like sports fans and not like drunken hooligans, thugs. douchbags, creeps and Zoobs.
So, in conclusion, I implore you all to cheer on the U and ignore the Zoobs. Fuck 'em, I says. They ain't worth our time anymore.
