TCU to the Big East Confirmed

TCU will join the Big East in all sports beginning July 1, 2012, according to numerous news outlets. TCU continues its nomadic conference hopping, and will likely be a major football force in the Big East for the foreseeable future. The school has scheduled a press conference for 12 PM MST today, noting the topic is "a major announcement involving the TCU athletics program."

This is yet another blow to the Mountain West, which has seen its three best programs leave over the past six months. Look for the MWC to increase its courting of Hawaii football as it begins to look more and more like the WAC.

the mwc will survive b/c fbs football needs the teams. there will be new teams.

if i was in tcu shoes i would do the same thing. on a sec blog they think it’s just a temporary move until the sec comes calling. tcu has been in more conferences than any other team in division 1-a or fbs history counting this move. here is another rumor floating around but i don’t believe it. they say patterson will goto miami university but their is really no upside to that. he would be expected to get them back to their championship glory days and that is alot of pressure. now that tcu is in a aq bcs conference they can afford 1 or two losses and schedule tougher teams. plus their is always the move to the sec if that happens. if i was patterson i would go along for the ride with tcu but if he does change jobs i’ll bet mike leach will be at the top of tcu’s coaching list.

Why do canadians stick together? The same reason why Chris Horodecki turned his body and face around in his first WEC fight.
