PrintI'm sure we'd all love to be at Rice-Eccles Stadium Saturday to cheer on our Utes. Unfortunately, for a great deal of fans, that just isn't possible. Many of you are, in fact, located out of state and can't make it back here for the Big Game™.
If you're one of those who will be watching beyond our borders, where do you plan on going? I'd like to use this post for those out-of-staters to maybe find a location where they can watch the game with other die-hard Ute fans.
So if you know of any watch parties in your non-Utah area (hell, even if you're in Utah and can't make the game because of how difficult it is to get a ticket), post 'em in the comments.
And as always, Go Utes!

Saw the Utes beat BYU in 2008 there. I still believe that their Coon-Ass Special sandwich and Jockamo IPA helped Utah win that game.

Are/were you a law student at Loyola? I went to Tulane Law. I’ve been to Cooters for a few games this year and I’ve been the only Utes fan in the house. Who knows, maybe some will come out of the woodworks for tomorrow’s game. And hell yes, that 2008 game was one of the finest moments of my life.

Not a law student at Loyola, though. The ol’ lady went to grad school at Tulane, I was just a working slob. I remember talking to another Ute fan about whether to pre-purchase tickets for the Sugar Bowl immediately after the game, so maybe that was you? At any rate, it was definitely an awesome night.
Enjoy the game today, hopefully over a dozen oysters at Cooters. GO UTES!!

Wish I could make it.
Unfortunately I will be at my in-laws for a birthday party fighting for TV time on the big screen with a bunch of LSU fans so I imagine I will be watching on the small TV. God how I wish I could meet you at Cooters to watch the game, slug down several NOLA Brown Ales or Hopitoulas IPAs and demolish a dozen or two oysters.

Hey Jazzy, first off wanna say i’ve been looking at your block U for many years and love your work, thanks for all of what you put into the Utes, I grew up in Utah and went to all Utah home games for 10 years growing up, when I went to college I left for the University of Arizona, but a large part of my football love stayed with the Utes, so I follow Utah still more than Arizona in some respects but I usually watch on Justin.tv unless the game is on espn, but cbs sports is a joke unfortunately but i’m wondering if I can go out to a sports bar and pick it up, i’m debating what to do now because justin.tv streaming via snowpunter or whatever the guys name that hosts it is very slow at some times and a little cumbersome to watch, if at last resort i’m going to be glued to my espn.com gamecast watching lines jump across the screen!

but…any bar that has Direct TV should have CBS College Sports. It’d probably be wise to call ahead and ask.

Since utah will be in arizona’s division I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of utah fans every other year down in tucson, its well worth the trip when its 80’s in november! And all of you should hit me up when you come down here!

I didn’t meant to instigate a civil war! No time for bickering, let’s keep our eye on tomorrow’s prize! As for visiting Arizona, I have some friends from the U who live in Phoenix now. I’m planning to make the trip every year to watch the Arizona (next year) and Arizona State (year after) road game. But planning all that is for another day.
For now, the game is the focus. I would like to echo JazzyUte’s sentiments in asking for everyone, no matter where you are, to BE LOUD, BE PROUD, and let’s will this team to victory. A good turnout of raucous (but still civilized) fans everywhere across the country can only bolster the nation’s perception of the Utes.

Thanks for posting this Jazzy. According the the Portland, OR Chapter of the Utah Alumni Association there is a watch party at Macadam’s Bar & Grill (5833 SW Macadam Avenue, Portland, OR).

I had no idea there was an alumni chapter here! And I’ve had to deal with all these Ducks and Beavers for years by myself without any support!!! I’m joining right now (it almost feels like AA). Fortunately, I’m flying out to SLC for the game and will miss you guys at the watch party. I’ll come for the Notre Dame game. Go Utes!
DC Utes @ Penn Quarter
Many of the DC Utes get together to watch the games at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern (Navy Memorial/Archives Metro). People are pumped for this one! The only problem may be that TCU folks sometimes watch their games at the same spot. Last year I thought there might be a fist fight.

Boise/Eagle Id.
I get to work, I’ll have it up on justintv (thanks snowpunter for streaming the games). But usaully when Utah puts 20-30 points on the board I get slammed at work and miss it all. I’m a bit conflicted, watch the entire game in peace and quite or get slammed and have the Utes put 40 up? If it’s a win I take the hit for the team.
On a side note- This game has big implications for BSU, so the sports radio station 1350, here will be playing the Utah game during the BSU game. (BSU plays at the same time on another talk radio station). There are a lot of closet Ute fans up here this weekend!

Several Ute fans here! A few of us have found a local watering hole that will carry all the Ute games for us, even the games on the mtn. JT’s Bar and Grill in Cedar Park, great food too. Love rubbing it in to the UT fans, especially after the both the Iowa State games! … Hahaha.

I will be watching the game in my room. I would go to a sports bar, but the Michigan-Illinois game is on at the same time. Besides, I would rather watch this game alone than watch Michigan drop another winnable Big 10 game.

Since Utah doesn’t have its own bar in Chicago (outrage!), I’m dragging some of my friends to watch at the TCU bar! Six Corners Sports Bar, 1950 W. North Ave. There are at least a FEW Utes out here in Chicago (I saw them at the Alabama bar for the Sugar Bowl!) so I’m hoping they’ll show up tomorrow too…..
Anything going on in the Dallas area?

Not many Utes in San Francisco proper...
I live/work downtown and very rarely come across any other Ute fans/alumni. I think there are more in the East Bay, in fact the Bay Area Utah Alumni chapter watches games at a bar in Walnut Creek. You may want to check in with them.
I decided to make the trip to watch an epic (hopefully) game in person. Good luck!

I am a hard core UTAH UTES fan from West Virginia. I saw Utah play on tv when I saw 7 and liked them ever since. Had the privilege to go to the UTAH vs MICHIGAN game and watch the Utes beat down my mountaineers old coach! It was classic! I now have my whole family cheering for them. Utah is their second favorite team. I go to the bar every weekend to watch the Utes play on the MTN. We get CBS college sports so my mom dad myself and brother will be watching it on our flat screen at our home in GLEN DALE WEST VIRGINIA! If you don’t know where that’s at it’s Brad Paiselys hometown! LETS GO UTAH UTES! Show everyone we belong!

I have met some Ute fans here in ABQ, but will be recording it (hopefully they win to replay it) because I can’t watch it live (its to nerve-wracking for me!). I’ll be rooting for them/watching them from my living room in HD stereo! Yeah! All I can say is, go UTES!!! Squash the frogs!!!

These are the official alumni chapters across the nation. It’s a great way to share and network with people that like what you like and maybe from where you are from. Besides watching games many clubs will do other things including fund raising for the university.
