Anyone feel disrespected?
Disclaimer - Nothing against Boise State's football team. They are good.
But does anyone else feel that Utah doesn't get as much respect as the other mid-major teams? It seems like everyone is obsessed with Boise State, and yes...they are a great team. And I don't mean to use the "big 6 conference" thing but we do play a better schedule than them. Utah has the same record as Boise in BCS games. But it's not only Boise. It seems like every year, byu is picked as the team to bust the BCS....on what grounds does anyone have to choose them? They choke every year, and have never even been able to get close enough to be a real consideration. Then there is TCU, yes...they dominated us last year and got into the BCS. And yes they are an amazing team, but Utah has actually won a BCS game, and against an SEC power. While TCU lost to Boise. Yes, Boise is a power....but not comparable to the SEC. I'm not saying that Utah deserves as much tv time as Tim Tebow...and I'm not saying that they are the greatest team ever. I'm just saying that I feel we don't get the respect that we have earned and deserved.
Looking over some of the links that Jazzy posted about the Pac-10 expanding, people are actually believing that Boise deserves the spot over Utah. I know Utah has fallen apart in basketball, but I think we are young and can only get better. While Boise hasn't been good at basketball for a long time, if at all. Those are the two major sports and money makers.
So I was just wondering if anyone else is seeing that.

i have been looking at the message boards and i see more for utah and colorado.
utah has beaten the pac-ten 10 times and boise only has beaten them 4 times. those games were with oregon and oregon state(bsu). we have beaten everybody but washington, stanford and arizona state. although we have not played those teams since the bcs was adopted.

Utah Does Need More Exposure
I agree with everything you have said. Boise is a great team (even though I hate to admit that because I can’t stand them) but they are. The reason we would go before Boise is that Salt Lake City is a much bigger market than Boise is. Utah has shown they can beat the big boys and play with the big boys each week. Not trying to take anything away from Boise’s two BCS bowls, but who did they honestly beat in those two years to get there? The WAC is the worst conference in Div. 1-A football. Boise SHOULD go undefeated through conference play and they never play anyone for a non conference game. Utah beat Alabama easily. Boise State (sorry bronco lovers) but would not have beaten that Alabama team last year. No comparison. If Utah doesn’t go to the Pac-10, then Boise should man up and come to the Mtn. West, and bring Fresno or Houston even with them. If the Mtn. West wants to be taken seriously as a “big 6” conference, they need to expand their market and football programs. Unless they do that, I think Utah will eventually leave (sooner than later) to the Pac-10.
I also agree with wolfmanshowlforever, the Utes basketball program is not what is was ten years ago. But they are improving. They won the conference last year, and yes granted they did get knocked out of the tournament in the first round last year, but they won the conference. Not to mention they also won the Baseball title as well. Utah’s women’s basketball team is amazing and will continue to get better. Their gymnastics are at the top of the nation year in and year out. Utah has a huge medical impact on the nation. Utah will eventually join the Pac-10. They are an OVERALL better school, and market than Boise. Who cares how much ESPN shows Boise killing New Mexico State in football on Thursday nights. When Utah goes to the Pac-10, it will show who deserves to be there more—Utah. Great post by the way.
utah does have 10 ncaa women's gymanstic titles. the most in the nation.
plus they usually have a good women’s basketball team.

if boise state losses that first game of the season vs va. tech there season is basically over.
the pressure is on bsu for the first time. lets see how they do when they are the hunted. they could still go 11-1 but would not get a bcs bowl bid. it would still be a great season to go 11-1 but i think they want 12-0 and a crack at ncg. i hope they do it but i think they purposely moved that game to the first game of the season so bsu would have to think about it for the next 6 months. the mind games have already started. i also say sec officialls will referee the game.
