Utah opens season vs Pittsburgh September 2nd.

This is great news b/c there is not a bye week. We get them right away and ranked around 14th in the country. They have to break in a new qb. I did not want them to have a game played before us. That would have been a huge advantage for them. We should beat them and then we should be ranked b/c i can't find any publication that has utah in it's top 25. We will probably start the season at around 28th in the others receiving votes section. The Iowa State game has been moved too. It's now in the early part of october. I expect a better year than last year and our offense should average around 34 points per game.

Rivals

Has us at 17 for 2010.

Utah makes Andy Staples list at Sports Ilustrated (coming in at 25).

So, good news is we start ranked but behind TCU and Boise State.

hopefully we will be ranked and with a win over a pitt team that should be around 14th.

we should be in the top 20 after the first week of football.

Hopefully we win

Seen that team lately?

They have for real talent at O-line, Defense (all over) and their running back is bleeding insane. While we will be catching them early, same goes for them catching us early.

Pitt is inconsistent—so are we.

We win that game, we have a fine chance ata great season, but we have sooooo many question marks on defense, playing one of the finest backs and finest run offenses in the nation with all new safeties and linebackers?

Tis game could be a damned nightmare for us.

Pitt is losing 3/5 multi-year senior starters on the OL.

Put Pitt’s OL up against our DL and I like our chances, even if they try to run the ball down our throats. And if their new QB tries to pass, I expect some sacks.

Yeah, but . . .

It’s a running team, not a finesse team and they have been recruiting extremely well teh last few years. Big concern of mine against a good run team early on is that our linebackers and safeties are all gone and we lost one of the experienced replacements already so . . . I mean, if your line can clog holes sweet but the guys that have to come up and close out that running game are your backers and safeties.

Luckily our defensive coaching is solid.

Yet I am most worried about how Pitt’s defense will stack up against our O, our O played so inconsistently last year and they area defensive team.

They're not going to be able to line up and run us over in the middle.

Since they lost all of their beef between the tackles (G-C-G all gone, all multi-year starters). I think Pitt has trouble moving the ball against us at all.

They lost both corners, but I agree that the real determining factor will be our O against their D. If we score 21 I think we win. Less than that and it’s trouble.

the qb who will be starting will have no ncaa fbs experience. the guy's first start will be at utah at around 4700 feet.

it’s pitt’s qb that will have the nightmare and i’ll bet we lay at lest 28 to 31 points on them.

here is the best part. i'll say vegas installs us as a 6 point underdog

take the moneyline. pitt also has a vanilla offense like boston college has. if our spread offense looks as good as it did vs cal in the bowl game we win by 17 points. that was technically a home game for cal too.
