We're number five! We're number five!

How 'bout that Ute fans?!? With one huge road victory, the Utes have crawled out of the Mountain West cellar and now find themselves tied with Colorado State for fifth. Take that, TCU!

Forgive me, folks. I'm trying to find as much positive as possible in a road win over the worst team in the Mountain West. But it's hard to make more out of this win than what reality allows. So I won't. It was a good start, however, and puts Utah in prime position to climb to .500 play on the season with a win at home Saturday against the Wyoming Cowboys.

For a season that has offered little progress since it began in November, I'm looking forward to seeing how they finish and do in the conference tournament. It may allow for some hope entering the 2011 campaign.
