Ute Madness: Vote to see who goes on to lose to the 1998 team
YAY! Here we go! It's the beginning of Ute Madness. Excited? No? Well I'm not, either. I mean, I'd rather the Utes be in the NCAA Tournament instead of producing a fictional tourney. But oh well - what else are we going to talk about?
Today's vote is a play-in type deal. Winner advances to take on the 1998 squad. That should be a slaughter.
The opponents:
# 8. 1983 Utes (18-14 overall, Sweet Sixteen Appearance).
# 9. 2005 Utes (29-6 overall, Sweet Sixteen Appearance).
1983 stunned Illinois & UCLA to advance to the Sweet Sixteen, 2005 surprised Oklahoma in the second round to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Overall, 2005 probably was the better team. However, 1983 has more memorable tournament wins. That and they weren't coached by Ray Giacoletti.
Who advances?

I wasn’t alive to see the 83 team, but I doubt they had a Naismith award winner that the 05 team had
Neither was I.
2005 was better. 1983’s team lucked out that year. Had they not won a share of the WAC, they don’t make the tournament.
They weren’t a good seed, either. Then they upset Illinois in the first round and shocked the second-seeded UCLA Bruins in the second to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. That Sweet Sixteen was played in Utah and they eventually lost a tough one to North Carolina State (who then went on to win the NC).
Pimm resigned after that season due to a falling out with the athletic department, and his assistant – Lynn Archibald.
Archibald was a failure.
