Big 12 (10) to stay alive...what's the next move?
Texas got their way and the Big 12 (10) is going to live for at least another few years.
So what's the next move?
Well the consensus is that the P-10 will invite Utah and make it an even twelve (remember, they took Colorado last week).
The deal could already be in place. I'm not sure if we'll hear anything, either way, today or if the news will break tomorrow.
But at the moment, Utah is in good standing.

Hope This Ends Soon
As a die hard purple and gold Husky fan I hope this all ends soon with Utah joining the new PAC 10. As fun as the last few days have been, my head is spinning. As good as it sounded having Texas, Oklahoma, and the rest of the Big XII n the PAC, in hindsight, especially consider the arrogance displayed by Texas the last week or so, it may very well be best for all them to stay where they are. It’s very possible that down the road our conference would have developed the same problems that engulfed the Big XII in the first place. Colorado and Utah are good fits, much better than the football factories under consideration, and will make the conference much better. I look forward to the Dawgs playing in their first conference title game.
Texas is just buying themselves time.
Either waiting a few years for a Big Ten invite or another shot at a Pac 16, who the hell knows…
But all that aside, let me say on June 14th, welcome to the Pac 12!
Because on June 15th, the Big 12 will begin talks with Notre Dame, Missouri will join the University of Toronto and Guadalajara Tech to form the Amero Conference, Texas A&M will be relegated to the C-USA after shunning the B12 for the invite to the SEC that never came, while the SEC picks up Tulane trying to rebuke claims that the conference doesn’t care about academics with their statement, “nuh-uh!”

Utah makes more sense in the Pac __, anyway.
and will be a far better partner for the long term than would Texas. As an SEC partisan [uh huh, am so] I regret that Texas was unsuccessful in its attempt to have destroyed two conferences in the past 14 years as we would have appreciated having Texas A&M in our league, but there is time yet.
Utah, use your new – and probably short-lived – influence and show your magnanimity by persuading the Pac-coasters to bring in Kansas and BYU with you. I would imagine that Larry Scott would like nothing better than to stick a shiv between Texas’ ribs, and chipping previously-spurned Kansas away from the Longhorn Conference would be a good start, plus good for Pac _ basketball. As for BYU, don’t leave them behind to an awful fate chained to Boise State.
And, a belated thank you, Utes, for handing Alabama its head in the Sugar Bowl a year-and-a-half ago. Looking forward to seeing you play Nebraska in the Rose Bowl soon.
Eschew obfuscation.
