Pitt Defensive Coordinator Talks About Utah's Formations
Pitt defensive coordinator Phil Bennett said some interesting things about the Utah offense today. During a conversation with Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBaeu, he said, "I told him heck, they have 58 formations. They do everything. I don't know how they practice that." Bennett continued, "They run power, a wildcat package, they run option - everything you might see in a year, we're seeing it in this first game."
Maybe I'm reading between the lines, but, "I don't know how they practice that," could mean, "We've had a hard time practicing to defend that." Hopefully that translates into a bunch of points for Utah as Pitt's newer defenders get a little lost during the opener.

Here's hoping they don't have an idea of how to defend our offense...
Don’t forget we’re leaning on the TEs more this year. We haven’t in years past.
the more formation they think we have the more the 18 thru 21 year old pitt defensive players will have too remember
they will get confused. 58 formations is an interesting number?
I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. Womens MMA, the next big thing in sports. 1 week till the first game of college football. UTAH vs Pitt. September 2nd 2010.

We don't see too many Utah games out here,
but I’m assuming the Utes’ spread is similar to Cincinnati’s – and that’s a good thing for the red team.
Interestingly, Pitt has been pretty good against run-first quarterbacks in the spread, but passers like Tony Pike have been able to pick Pitt’s secondary apart.
There’s a good chance Pitt needs to keep Utah under 25 pts in order to win. Even with their stars on offense, putting up 30 points is going to be a tough task for a new QB on the road. Pitt’s going to rely on defensive ends Romeus and Sheard to generate pressure, hope the linebackers are adequate in coverage and hope for the best.
7 days from right about now, we’ll all be watching football. Hells yes.
Bring on football!
And may both teams win every game single after this one!
I keep accidentally eating my pets. Maybe I should get something less appetizing, like a cat instead of a Twinkie.

It seriously took me quite a while to figure out what your were talking about. Who says word order is important?

That could be coach speak for . . .
Our opponent needs to start focusing more on what they do well and stop trying to be a jack-of-all-trades. That seemed to be pretty faint praise if he intended it to be a compliment.
I think you're reading too much into it.
Definitely meant to be praise.

Ah you guys
Stayed with Cinncy last year and they had a hell of a team.
I am more interested in seeing how your rebuilt line plays with our rebuilt defense. While you have a rookie QB? We have rookie linebackers and defensive backs—it’s an even match.
i took it as praise. the more formations the more problems for the pitt defense.
