It's funny how many Pac fans seem logical and rational.
Meanwhile, there are still MWC fans blaming us not only for “ruining” their BCS auto-bid hopes, but for the entire BYU/WAC/MWC fiasco as well. As it stands, right now, I have no problems rooting for Pac teams over MWC teams. And that sucks.
Anyway, it was a great read and it’s nice to see that many of the established Pac fanbases do recognize the U (and CU, for that matter) as an asset to their conference. I feel all warm and fuzzy with the Pac-lurve. :)

thanks for the reference Jazzy
reading the blog and posts made me realize we are very fortunate to be a part of the PAC 10. i hope our fan base can act as intelligent and cordial as we develop new rivalries — and perhaps bring some of the same class to our long-standing ones . . . wow.
Pac-10 fans second only to Ivy League
Good to hear that Young’s comments were’nt popular with P10 fans. These P10 bloggers are definitely smarter than the avg. fan (see SEC). That’s probably because P10 schools are second only to the Ivy League in academics.. Love the banter of these brainiacs lol.

Wow! Apparently there are alot of others throughout the PAC just as passionate about the expansion
I couldn’t believe all the responses and the excellent points he made. How is it that we seem to get more support from a conference we haven’t even started with yet. Is it 2011 yet?
I wonder...
what other schools in the Pac-10 think of the expansion. Also, are most viewing Colorado on par with Utah from an athletics standpoint (obviously Utah has been the hotter team as of late)?
it's a money thing right?
I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. Womens MMA, the next big thing in sports. 1 week till the first game of college football. UTAH vs Pitt. September 2nd 2010.

The Buffs and Big 12 are playing chicken
Colorado’s buyout is higher if they don’t give two years notice, and the athletic department is broke, so they’re saying they’re not leaving until 2012 unless they can get a lower buyout. But since playing with 11 teams would be messy for both the proto-Texas 10 and proto-Pac 12, and the Buffs don’t really want a lame duck season in a conference without Nebraska, odds are something’s going to be worked out.
i agree with that.

I think part of it is that they want the PAC 10 to help as well.
This is a game of chicken with three parties on the tracks (CU, the PAC 10 and the Texas 10). All three want the other two to take the financial hit to make things good for all of them (as all of them really want the same thing, CU in the PAC 12 in 2011). The issue is who is going to pay for it. Right now, CU is saying that they’re not paying, no matter what. So one of the conferences will have to step up and pay or both will have to suffer. Likely it will be a compromise, with the Big 12 lowering the buyout a little bit, the PAC 10 loaning CU some of the money, and CU agreeing to pay the PAC 10 back rather than having to pay right now.
Everyone hates a pink-shirt-wearing communist.
