PrintAre you kidding me?! The D showed up in a big way tonight! Wynn wasn't the same after he got hit before the INT. I think all of our questions got answered tonight! The O line is what we thought they were and D is more than people thought they be! I for one am proud!! The Offense will pull it together... But what was more important is that the D is solid and now has 6 games to improve!
This year could be a lot like the 2008-09 sugar bowl year...

D was good
But Pitt was also playing its first game. Their Offensive line might gel later but it is not the best one we will face all year. BYU and TCU have massive, strong, disciplined lines and Air Force’s line will be tough again. If our D can slow down TCU I will be impressed. They looke din mid season formn against OSU, their running game was unstoppable. Running for first down from 3rd and eight?
That was sick.

there is no pleasing you. 1st it’s how will they stop the run? We have all new LB’s & PITT’s RB is amazing! So the D hold’s him to 75 yrds and now you’re saying it’s because PITT’s O-Line “might gel latter”… You’re killing me.

I’m sure Bob is pleased…he probably just is one to temper his passion with some objective reasoning. I can appreciate that.
I think our O-line has been a bit underrated going into this year, and we should see them really explode against the weaker teams on our schedule. These next 4-5 games are gonna be fun as we work out the kinks in our offense and get ready for that gauntlet you mentioned.

Our defensive line looks much deeper than last year
Having good players rotating is great for us. After Utah held Pitt mostly in check, I feel better about our chances against AF and TCU. I think TCU has lost a step from last year, but I think they are still the favorites in the MWC. Plus I thik OSU has improved since last year.
As for the offensive line, I thought they played outstanding. Jordan Wynn was rushed a few times, but our line kept a very talented d-line from sacking him even once!. (John Cullen in particular was a beast).
Something like 11 guys got time on the D-Line? Ridiculous! Outrageous! How many were seniors? maybe 3?

tcu defense is weaker this year and dalton can be rattled. when rattled he threw three int's s boise and two vs osu
i think the utah game will be similar and we will pick him off a couple of times. we will take advantage. utah will go undefeated, tcu 11-1.

Love the optimism, and TCU definitely looked a bit weaker. I’ll attribute that to week 1 jitters however.
I will agree that the conference title is going to come down to that game at RES between TCU and us, and I’m excited for it!

just take care of business. i know tcu will be undefeated but the game im a little concerned about
might be that road game vs iowa state. they had a decent win over northern illinois and they got iowa this week. i hope they win that game too. utah has three easy games before isu and isu has three tough games. that could be a blessing or a curse? we will beat up on the bad teams and isu has iowa, texas tech and kansas state, much better teams then utah will be playing. now isu might get injured up but if they are healthy and win some of those games this could be a tough game. i think we will win but i expect it to be a battle.

I have to say I fully agree with your ISU assessment. BUT, I think the Ute’s O gets in 3 good scrimmages to work out the kinks and blow ISU out putting together a full and complete game with only 6 flags.

Thats not optimistic...
That’s sounds more like the vegas betting line. ISU is better, but they’re no better than PITT. We really shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and flags against PITT, it should have never been as close as it was. I think we clean all that up in the next 3 games and put on a show! If we don’t clean it up then I’d say your 7-10 points is realistic.

remember the game is in iowa. road games are always tougher. i stand by my win margin.
lets see what iowa state does vs iowa. 14 points isu. then ksu and TT.
