Tim Davis to be announced as Utah's new offensive line coach
UPDATE: It's official!
Though the Norm Chow discussion continues, one piece of the puzzle is already in place.
Lya Wodraska just Tweeted that Davis is expected to be named Utah's new offensive line coach this afternoon. He replaces Blake Miller, who left the program recently.
Davis coached at Utah from 1990 to '97, producing some of the best offensive lines in the country. He's also coached at Wisconsin, SC and most recently, Minnesota.
As for Chow, well expect no official word until things are finalized at UCLA.

This is really good news
Tim Davis is an upgrade and has experience at Utah. Even if nothing ever comes of the Norm Chow negotiations, Davis provides a nice improvement in the offensive coaching staff.
Well, call me tickled!
This is a great hire. Granted, I don’t know much about him, but after looking up his credentials/experience I would’ve thought that he’d be kind of in demand.
I like this alot....
I liked Miller and the experience he brought, but it felt to me especially this last year that talent wise we were well above average against our competitors although it seemed that production maybe wasn’t what it could have been.
That's coaching for you
Good OL coaching gets you discipline and well executed blocking schemes.
Bad OL coaching gets you false start and holding penalties with poor blocking.
The superior OL talent showed in the games against lesser teams. The bad OL coaching was visible at times in those games, but was completely exposed in games against tougher competition.

Great hire!
I keep accidentally eating my pets. Maybe I should get something less appetizing, like a cat instead of a Twinkie.
