UCLA game notes-November 8, 2011

-I love the worthless stats that they toss out in these things.  "Interceptions (caught) per game", "field goals per game"......who cares?  Receptions per game? sure.  Rushes per game? Absolutely.  But let's be real for a minute here.......

-I thought that Norm Chow called an excellent game.  What I loved most, and this hasn't been utilized to full capacity this year, was that Hays threw to Asiata a bunch.  When you have a full back who can get out to the flat, catch a ball, and plow ahead for 6-8 yards, that takes pressure off of the inside run game.  Personally, I think Asiata is a better pro prospect than his brother.  But with NFL teams going away from Fullbacks, I doubt he ever gets a shot.....

-Did anyone else see John White absolutely truck an Arizona defensive end?  Man, he is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite Utes.  Reminds me a bit of Brandon Warfield, but more explosive.

-Between our two tight ends, they have 12 catches.  So much for the annual pre-season declaration that we will see the tight ends used more.  Oh wait, its 13 catches. Wes Tonga has one......Jake Murphy killed it against BYU.  Why not get him more involved?

-Tevita Finau has been moved from Nose Tackle to be a co-starter at Tackle with big daddy Dave Kruger.  Tevita was a beast against OSU.  James Aiono has been moved to Nose Tackle behind Star.  I don't care who plays, as long as they keep plugging things up inside, i am happy.

-I have loved Mo Lee at corner.  I think that him starting at right corner and Lacy playing in nickel situations is perfect.  Lacy is perfect to take on number 3 receivers.

-Big congrats to Sean Sellwood on winning STPOW.  Could have gone to Greg Bird as well.

Prediction time:

I think we beat UCLA 27-20.  Looking forward to a great game!

Good news..Im too tired to come up with my weekly poll.........yay........
