what used to be the orgasm of CFB, New Years Eve, New Years Day. Too many Bowls, and only the big ones where it won’t cost the team to go (see UCONN Fiesta), and the Bama redo matter anymore.
Whisky/Frogs @ Rose last year was great, Baylor/Huskies was a basketball game, Free Shoes over Touchdown Jesus was watchable, but none of them matter. I hope we have a good game today.
Other than T Boone Pickens’ wallet vs. Andrew Luck, I don’t have much interest after today except our share of the ACC’s $$ from Orange and Sugar.

8 hours and counting to the end of CFB for me.
Bowl Games on the Wednesday of the first week back to work don’t do much for me, and the Split National Championship possible since The Bear talked God into getting Bama in with a loss and a BYE means that THIS IS IT FOR ME!
I’m trying to generate some hate, but y’all seem OK to me (except for that fella that said the South was degenerate and backwards).
We gotta have a win, cause as many ACC Championships as we will win (nobody won 2009), CPJ’s gotta beat u(sic)GA and win a BOWL FRICKIN’ GAME.

Do it for us and our new conference
Pac-12 taking a lot of abuse lately and some people calling for a 0-6 record in bowl games. It would be a nice win not only for ourselves but also our conference. … I remember when the MWC was undefeated that one bowl season but of course TCU blows it against Boise. Stupid horned frogs. We need some pac-12 conference pride in bowl games.
Sorry, we need it more.
Since you beat us in the 05 Nut Bowl we’ve been 0-for and run out of Peach, Independence, and Orange.

There's always the pre-game baloney that goes on -
Maybe they’ll forego that.. Kinda like movie times. It says the show starts at x:30 but there are 15-20 minutes of previews before the show you really want to see starts.

this is the only bowl game CBS televises.
It’s also one of the few bowl games available OTA.
With the prevalence of cable in America today, it doesn’t mean as much, but still pretty cool.
I like it being on one of the major networks...
It does seem kind of more special than the other bowl games airing on ESPN.
If only it were a New Year’s Day bowl…

Danielson is a pretty good color commentator.
Verne covers maybe 6 or 7 teams during the regular season, and still makes a ton of mistakes and gaffes every week.

Utah program has been slipping steadily the past 3 to 4 years now
Doesn’t look any better this year against a soft PAC-12 schedule and a substandard bowl opponent. The resources are there, especially money. We’ll see after about 3 years of PAC recruiting but I’m not holding my breath on this coaching staff.

Any struggles this year came when we were down to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th CB’s and missing our top RB. When we were healthy we blew out the SEC East champ and wiped the field with a team that annihilated you guys at home 35-14.
I think we’ll have a rebuilding year but I’m not concerned in the least. Take care :D

The percentages vary, I bet, based on team, tho...
Georgia Tech is a team that can eat up a ton of clock on just a few short plays. Their offense is normally efficient and that is a huge gamble. It’s not fair to compare the percentages when you’re dealing with other teams – teams with worse offenses that certainly change the dynamics.
Take Utah. If you reverse the situation, punting to the Utes makes sense because their offense is slow and, often, ineffective.
But a team like Georgia Tech? That is a gamble.

This was a very good win for the Utah program. The sort of win I expected them to bring to the Pac.
By that I mean a tough, gutty effort, and a smart effort at the end. QB injuries and other stuff come and go, but effort, sound strategy, and not giving up work regardless.
