Utah signs Eastern Washington's Glen Dean
Utah basketball announced the signing of Glen Dean, a guard out of Eastern Washington University today.
Dean is a 5'10 guard out of Seattle, Washington, so he's a bit on the smaller side. He didn't have any major offers out of high school and originally signed with Portland State before moving on to Eastern Washington. However, he was the Eagles' top scorer in his sophomore season and certainly appears to be talented.
While I'm excited and happy the roster is filling up, even though Dean will have to sit out a year, it does seem like Utah is loading up on guards and the team continues to lack size.
But I'm not the coach and until proven otherwise, I trust Larry Krystkowiak's decisions.
So welcome to the Utes, Glen!

This might be my favorite pick up of the offseason
Glen Dean has real talent. He played for former Majerus assistant Kirk Earlywine at Eastern, but Earlywine’s contract was not renewed. Dean was all of the talent on this years Eastern team.

Radical things CAN happen....
and evidently will continue with these guys running the show! Holy smokes…. The recruiting arms have been long and the tentacles many. Check out Odunsi’s comments…
Now if we can wrap up a big…. or two.
We'll be good to go...
I’m excited to see how these players pan out. Won’t be until next season, but I’ve sat through six years of rebuilding…what’s an extra year?
impressive. our new coach picked up the kids bag. i'm liking the hire better every day.
Jon " Bones " Jones new UFC light heavyweight champion. Even if Jones got struck flush in the face he would recover and defeat whoever is in front of him. I told everyone the fight would be easy. Anderson Silva would never fight "Bones". He is too scared to fight the real P4P champion. Nick Diaz, the man who will prove to the MMA world that he is the best WW in the world.

Coach is recruiting like a mad man. He is earning a lot of respect, excitement, and confidence.
He is also keeping Utah basketball in the headlines. Not an easy feat to do in the off season. And it’s all for the right reasons. He is playing his cards right, that is for sure. Hope it all translates to on the court success.
Impressed. From what I can Google, this kid makes smart decisions with the ball.
And I love this:
But I’m not the coach and until proven otherwise,I vote Jazzy for Head Coach, who’s with me?
Liking Larry better all the time. Maybe not so bad that none of the first choice coaches came through. Next season is looking better all the time despite the post-Boylen exodus.

Haven’t seen any of these new guard recruits play, but on paper they seem solid.
Any Doleac, Chambers or Van Horn types out there that have flown under the radar? We need a big guy or two that can consistently shoot. Here is to hoping Josh Grant’s kid can play like his Papa.

mix-up
Sorry I got it wrong. The player I was thinking of was not Josh Grant but former Ute Reid Monson – his son Neil Monson.
got ya
I think he is going on a mission and hasn’t been guaranteed a scholarship upon his return.
