Utah basketball signs Anthony Odunsi
On the heels of signing LSU transfer Aaron Dotson, Utah basketball has now added Anthony Odunsi, a shooting guard out of Fort Bend, Texas.
Odunsi had originally committed to Iowa State, however, asked for a release from his scholarship back in April. He then was being courted by Utah, Colorado State, Penn State and Butler - but reports have him signing with the Utes.
You can view Odunsi's recruiting profile here. He is a three-star recruit out of Texas and was rated the 14th best prospect in the state for the 2011 class.
So certainly a huge get for Larry Krystkowiak and the staff.

Am I the only one really surprised the success that Larry has had with recruiting? Some of these recruits look like they can be players.

You and I are gonna have issues with your screen name...
But I must say that I’m pleasantly surprised at what’s been going on with recruiting. We’c better hope their players and not more bench warmers.
Now back to your name… It feels good to finally find myself rooting for a MLB team that others are starting to hate. It’s only taken my lifetime of 50+ years to see it happen. But since you’re a Braves fan I can see why our recent rise to prominence is giving you heartburn. Go Phillies! (and on a topic that think we can both agree – GO UTES!)

We should temper our excitment a bit...
Dotson fell in our laps after Washington didn’t offer and had no room and Gonzaga chose to go with Guy Landry instead. As for Odunsi, we essentially beat out Colorado St. Now I’m not saying I’m not happy that these guys are Utes but both these guys fell in our laps and we can’t count on that.
Also we need some size.
But this beats the hell out of losing players.
More diffused reality from the peanut gallery...
it’s just so refreshing to get the straight story. Can’t quite fathom how you can bring in the new without cleaning house but….
i have been saying this all along. get rid off the players that don't want to be here and bring in the playesr you want
you should want to rise and fall with the players you get.
Jon " Bones " Jones new UFC light heavyweight champion. Even if Jones got struck flush in the face he would recover and defeat whoever is in front of him. I told everyone the fight would be easy. Anderson Silva would never fight "Bones". He is too scared to fight the real P4P champion. Nick Diaz, the man who will prove to the MMA world that he is the best WW in the world.

Agreed!
If they don’t want to be here, then let’s move on! Like what I see so far, tough times, but moving ahead!
What part of what I said wasn't true.
You lob these attacks yet never point out how I’m wrong. Please do.

He is a transfer or eligible immediately?
It sounds like he is a transfer so he’ll be sitting out a year, right?
he never went to iowa st so he’s a high school recruit

am i the only one concerned with the number of kids in this class looking for greener pastures?
…maybe it’s not a big deal, after all we should be thrilled with any talent we can get. that said, if we’re rebuilding a program with kids that are jumping ship (and not staying true to their commitments to other schools) what dedication can we expect from this class? maybe i’m overreacting here but i’d love us to focus on diamonds in the rough that literally are not “too cool for school”.
if utah is a greener pasture destination i think us being in the pac -12 has already accomplished something.

That's more like it.
Okay, I think this guy is worth getting excited about.
