Utah basketball releases full 2011-12 schedule
The Utes have finalized their upcoming schedule for the 2011-12 basketball season and there have been some interesting developments.
Utah and Utah State won't meet this season - though the Utes keep their series with Weber State and BYU alive.
With BYU and Utah now non-conference opponents, it's unlikely the two will schedule each other twice (home and home) in a season - something indicated on this year's schedule, as the Utes host the Cougars with a planned return trip to Provo next season (I can assume, at least).
Utah's game against Weber will be played up in Ogden, continuing the rivalry with the Wildcats.
The home schedule, at least in preseason play, isn't anything remarkable. Outside that game with BYU, the Utes host San Diego Christian College, Montana State (hey, in football too), Cal State Fullerton, Idaho State and Portland. Of course, for a team that struggled greatly last season, the lack of big-named opponents should help in at least producing some wins.
Beyond playing in Ogden, the Utes will also travel to take on Boise State, Fresno State and also play in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament - which consists of Florida State, UConn, Central Florida, College of Charleston, Harvard, Massachusetts and North Carolina of Asheville - a clear improvement over the remainder of the preseason schedule.

i dont quite understand the conference schedule
home and home with everyone but USC, UCLA, and the Washington Schools. Will it always be that way? I find it strange to not have home-and-home with everyone in the division…..

There are no divisions in basketball
Instead of playing a home-and-home round robin, teams will play their traditional rival twice each season. They will also play six other teams in a home-and-home each season with one game against the other four teams. Those will rotate to guarantee an even distribution of games.
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
The four single-play opponents will rotate every two years.
There is a ten-year rotation model for scheduling the four teams that we play only one game with. Below is the 10 year rotation for Utah and Colorado:
11-12 Wash, WSU, USC, UCLA
13-14 Cal, Stan, ORE, OSU
15-16 USC, UCLA, ARIZ, ASU
17-18 ORE, OSU, CAL, STAN
19-20 Ariz, ASU, Wash, WSU
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
You can't play everyone in the conference twice per year
Opponents will rotate, as in football. Utah will likely play at the Washington schools next year and host USC and UCLA. The following year, they will play home-and-homes with those schools and there will be different teams they will play only once.

So how many wins do we think we'll have
I don’t see more than 2 wins in Pac 12 play, but that pre season schedule is truly Majerus-esque. I wonder if we could get 6-8 in the preseason.

i'll double that to 4 or maybe even 5 wins.
Anderson Silva would never fight "Bones". He is too scared to fight the real P4P champion. Nick Diaz, the man who will prove to the MMA world that he is the best WW in the world. Still public enemy #1 and enjoying every minute of it.
