Now that we know there will be a NFL Season, teams can start signing those players who went undrafted.
The one I was most interested in is Shaky Smithson, who has signed with the Green Bay Packers. This is a great spot for Shaky as the Packers need help in the return game. Shaky's main competition for a roster spot will be Randall Cobb whom the Packers drafted in April.
Sealver Siliga, who made a momentous mistake declaring early for the draft has signed on with the San Francisco 49ers.
Isaac Asiata has let us know that Matt Asiata is now joining Brandon Burton in Minnesota. This is an intriguing spot for Matt. Matt doesn't have the speed to be a pure HB in the NFL. His best fit will be in a change of pace/Fullback role. The biggest problem for the change of pace spot on the Vikings is that they drafted Toby Gerhart in 2010. Maybe Asiata can get that Fullback role, and considering who the Vikes already have at Fullback, it would be sweet to see Asiata take a spot from a Cougar.
Eddie Wide III (Or as Andrea Adelson calls him, Wide In) will now be playing for my beloved Rams according to Howard Balzer. The Rams have Steven Jackson at running back and that's it. They desperately need a 2nd back, and Wide could just be that. Here's hoping.
The Utes have now put a Zane in the NFL for the 2nd consecutive year. Zane Taylor is now a Jet.
If anyone hears of any other Utes attempting to make the jump update here.
