With the Pac-12 Coaches continuing the media tour today with a joint session in New York this afternoon, Larry Scott has announced a big announcement in regards to the Pac-12 Network today at a press conference scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Mountain Time.
Jon Wilner is a terrible AP Voter, who seemingly has a grudge against the Pac-12 expansion and against Utah in general, however he has been the go to source whenever it comes to anything Pac-12 TV related. Wilner has tweeted that Scott spent a lot of time with Fox Sports president Randy Freer Yesterday. Wilner is putting Fox as the favorite, but says not to rule out Time Warner Cable, who is also in New York City today, and has a massive Los Angeles Footprint.
Scott smartly withheld a pretty solid selection of content during the recent TV deal negotiations in order to make the Pac-12 Network more valuable. It'll be interesting to see what the costs are, and how much this adds to the pie.
