This appears to be what Utah's blackout jersey will look like for the Oregon State game. You can purchase them from the official store of the Utes.

I don’t mind selling black jerseys, but I do mind using a game to further that cause. It was a great one-time thing for TCU and for how that game turned out, it’s a tradition that should have been brought back for only the most special of occasions, and not some marketing ploy to fill up the calendar.
I can see why people think it's overplayed...
I’m not sure any school now has an annual blackout.
So maybe we can say we’re unique in that regard.
With that said, it’s still fun and the players seem to enjoy it, so I see little harm in it.

It’s not a ploy to fill up the calendar, it’s a ploy to fill up the bank account. They’ll get your money one way or the other- if it’s not this it’ll be even higher ticket prices and student fees, and more ads littered about Rice Eccles stadium. At least this way you get some merchandise in return.
Using them against Wyoming was iffy- the only redeeming factor was that it was Halloween. Using them against a quality opponent, Oregon State, two days before Halloween, I think that’s great.
Here’s hoping it’s a night game, and here’s hoping they get some sweet black helmets.

It’s great that we can count on one game per season to black out. It’s a fun and unique experience to do once a year. So why not?
I don’t know why so many people bicker and moan about the business side of things… “they’re only trying to get more money” or “this is just a ploy to gouge fans.”
Who cares? Don’t buy the black jersey if you feel this way. You can refrain buying the jersey AND still enjoy the blackout experience.

Better than the fucking awful cammo jersey from last year.
I think the “normal” blackout jerseys are pretty good.
the Wounded Warrior Project is obviously an awesome and necessary cause, but UnderArmour screwed the pooch with that design. And then to have that generic, shit design for South Carolina, Maryland, and Texas Tech as well is inexcusable.
Also, I wish we were playing a team that didn’t have black as one of their primary colors that close to Halloween.
Hopefully we never do that cammo crap again...
Great cause, but I’m nowhere being over that abortion. I still get sick thinking of the performance and how dead we looked right out of the gate.
As for Oregon State, yeah, I’d rather do it against ASU (though they too have black secondary uniforms) – but whatever. I’m sure there is a reason why they picked Oregon State.
And for the love of God, the game better be at night. If it’s a day game, I’m gonna be pissed (and night means anything later than 4 in my book).

It is more likely the osu game is a night game. If the asu game has any relevance to the p12 south title it will be a day game.

The only good part of that game was how electric the atmosphere was before the game. It was so freakin loud it was incredible!

I like the look of this years Blackout jersey. I agree with others, the game needs to occur at night to have the desired effect. Go Utes.

Needs a black helmet to go with it
I love the black look, but it just doesn’t work with the red cherry on top. Give me a black helmet with a red block U on it.

They are BLACK
Which is a vast, yet seemingly obvious improvement over the horrible “black” camo jerseys we had last year.
Which ironically people seem to now share that opinion… maybe because we lost… but I remember getting lambasted last year for saying I hated those jerseys when they were unveiled. Weird.
I like the blackout, and I like this jersey.
The blackout is fun. A lot of fans like it. The players like it. It looks cool on TV. So why not?
And I love how this uniform looks. I think the big mistake last year was trying to combine what should have been two separate alternate uniforms – a black one, and a camo one. The result was a schizophrenic mess that didn’t look especially black and didn’t look particularly military-esque either.

Simple black with red. Nice. Like the red swirls too.
If anyone found my snowboarding gloves after storming the field following the 2004 TDS game, I want them back!

If I remember reading that right. It’s on the regular red jerseys to, but much more subtle.
I love the blackout, it’s fun for fans and a nice mix-up. In a day where everyone has an alternate uni and fashion is all the craze in football, you gotta have it to keep up with the Jones’, unless you have a timeless look of USC or ND, this is what you do.
Plus, the stadium looks awesome with the fans blacked out. Oregon St are giant killers, so it’ll be a good game no matter what their record is (or ours).
Notre Dame has several alternate jerseys.
Including their green ones.
But your point is valid. Schools that have had the same uniform for 50 years don’t need alternate jerseys. Utah isn’t one of those schools.

I saw the new unis in Fanzz earlier this week...
Interestingly enough it sounds like Under Armour forgot to put the PAC 12 shield on the right shoulder, so they had to send them back. Overall in person I thought the red jersey looked awesome. I’m kind of undecided on the black unis. I think the topography on the shoulders should have been black on black. The red uni has red on red, which looks good. Its not very noticeable from a distance, but up close it looks clean and distinct. One thing is for sure though…definitely better than last years GI Joker uniform!
Of course it must be said…NO BLACK HELMETS = FAIL IN MY BOOK! This is the year for the black helmet!

I ‘m looking for a place where I can get a Utah jersey (preferably a black one) I’m not a big fan of shopping online, so I’m looking for an alternative. U bookstore?

I stopped by yesterday
and they said jerseys are due in next week. Actually, they are delayed and were supposed to be there this week. They said they would have a 3 and a 92, embroidered and iron on, mens, womens and youth sizes. Big sizes up to 4X.

Black Helmet (reference maryland)
Maryland got the turtle motif on their helmets. The blackout helmet should be matte black on liquid black topography. That would look sick and fit with what UA did for Maryland.
