Langi to get carries on Saturday

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700177141/Utah-Utes-football-Harvey-Langi-to-get-some-carries-for-Utes.html

This came out this morning from Dirkules.  (pronounced like Hercules)

I like how it mentioned that this is NOT being done out of necessity, but Harvey has earned this.  Good for him.  It was clear to just about everyone that Tauni Vakapuna is just not the answer at running back.  And you throw in a hurt ankle and that seals the deal.

Getting your first college carry against USC in the colliseum, not bad.  Here is hoping that he runs over the team that he turned down.

I would like to see him get backup carries

But there is no reason John White IV shouldn’t be the center of the offense. He looked fantastic last week.

absolutely agree.

Im just excited that Harvey will get (in all likelihood) 8-12 carries to be the “zag” to White’s “Zig”. White is a freaking stud and deserves to be #1.

Well since his Redshirt got burned without a carry last week.

It would be a waste not to give him time.

It’s obvious White is going to be the main back, but with Vakapuna’s no show against MSU the backup role needed to be looked at. No time like the present.

I'm curious as to why Thretton isn't getting any love...

Maybe hasn’t figured out how to block?

I’d hate to see his talent go to waste…

I think it is blocking

and I wouldn’t give up on him just yet. Pass blocking is really difficult, particularly for a RB. Plenty of very experienced backs struggle with pass blocking. Give him a year of really watching football and he’ll be a deadly weapon from the backfield.

Go Langi

I think that Harvey will get anywhere from 50-75 yards rushing this week. He wont go over 100 unless he breaks a big one, just not enough carries in a back-up role. Juan Blanco IV is a stud, and deserves the majority of the carries. GO UTES
