One of those rare, awesome moments...

Where college football gives me a reason to care about the outcome of an NFL game.

Sweetness

Hey BYU fans, When was the last time a Cougar won a NFL playoff game?……Yeah, you have to go back to Steve Young. Way to go Alex!

Let me clarify the question:

when was the last time a former Cougar QB won a playoff game?

Totally last century!!!!!

Very hot place gets frosty before any of the last dozen or so TDS qb’s do it either. Including Riley or Jake.

Jim Harbaugh is no doubt the best thing that ever happened to Alex Smith

7 OC’s in 7 years would have made even Brady look like a bust. Glad to see him finally succeed.

Totally Freakin' Awesome Performance!!!

Not a 49ers fan, but you gotta take your hat off when a QB twice in the last 4 minutes scores (1 personally ran for 28 years) to put your team ahead.

Welcome back, Alex!!! We knew you had it in you. Congrats on getting a coach who knew it too.

I'm not either, but that was fun to watch.

In fact, I’ve been a loyal Patriots fan since before they were good… circa 1982. However, IF the 49ers and the Patriots were to meet in the SuperBowl, I admit that watching a former Ute QB win the Big Game would trump watching Brady win another one.

Sweet Win!

that game had me standing up and yelling, in my own house. Dogs thought I was freaking nuts.

Incredible!

I put my 3yo in tear when yelling as Alex ran for that touchdown. He caught on for the game winner.

Isn't it so much easier when you're not going through OC's like socks?

7 in 7 years…..sheesh.

I appreciate his sentiment about the Phillies

Probably a New Orleans fan.

Replay Available

Looks like the whole game is available on the NFL Network. Go to the specific game it self and start the videos up. When I did that a link to view the whole game was shown.

Also seen several posts in other blogs that reference a replay of the game on the network itself on Monday, but I don’t see it on their schedule.

My bad

To see the whole game via the link, you have to subscribed to their game subscription service.

I'm so fucking sick of Tim Tebow and his sanctimonious bullshit

That it was nice that ESPN was talking about Alex Smith a bit more than that douche Tebow. However, I did not hear Utah in association with Smith. Bummer.

And on Monday, Syracuse will still be #1 in all of the land.

by LeftCoastMan on Jan 15, 2012 3:07 AM MST reply actions

What?

I don’t get all the hate on Tebow. He prays after a touchdown. Tebowing was popular before Tebow. Also, this is a guy who tries to do good in the world. He doesn’t force his religion on anyone else. Why do people villify (sp?) Tebow and make heroes out of murderers like Ray Lewis or dog fighters like Michael Vick? The Tebow hate is unjustified. He may not be the best qb in the world but he’s a hell of an athlete. I’d like to see you go do what he does, including throw for over 300 yards. With that said, I agree that there’s way too much coverage of him.

On an unrelated note, I’m so glad to see Alex Smith finally do well. I hate the 9ers for putting him through football hell, but they finally made a great choice in Harbaugh.

I'll take the bait

I’m not a Tebow fan, and here’s why:

  • too in-your-face about religion (though I know he doesn’t mean anything bad by it) But praying every time and having to mention his religion at just about every possible opportunity wears thin
  • absorbs a lot of the credit that the D should be getting instead
  • media oversaturation: it was bad enough when he was in college! Enough already!

But yes, it’s at least refreshing to see someone getting praise that’s a good guy and not a dogfighting criminal for a change. I’ll give you that!

by scotty256 on Jan 15, 2012 6:52 PM MST up reply actions

Thanks

I can appreciate the media. I understand that and even agree with it. I guess my problem is he actually doesn’t proclaim his religion more than any other player. Keven Durant, before every interview, does the same thing. He says his thanks to Jesus. Why don’t people hate him as well? (Granted, he is better at his position than Tebow). Other than that, I don’t see him absorbing credit the D should get. Maybe I need to pay more attention at that. Either way, his season is over. Let’s move on to the Giants and 9ers. I’m so stoked for Alex Smith!

GO UTES!

by Classless Ute on Jan 15, 2012 8:40 PM MST up reply actions

You missed the point

Approximately 6-7 million years of human evolution gave Tebow his skills (or lack thereof). Setting aside his stupid religious bullshit, he’s not a leader, nor is he a very good quarterback. Urban Meyer set up a system that worked with his limited skills. Keep the religious junk away from me and sports. If you want to proselytize, that’s your psychotic behavior, I don’t want to see it.

Alex Smith on the other hand, had the skills, and hence was a #1 pick. I thought, before this year, he was done. I’m so glad he’s getting his chance to shine.

Smith and Wynn

Speaking of football hell. Wynn will be with his third (or is it fourth) offensive coordinator.

At SF right

Hate the Giants. Of course, outside of #1 Syracuse University, I despise all New York teams in all sports. Especially, the Giants, Yankees, Mets, Jets, Rangers, Islander, Devils, Knicks (if I actually gave a crap about the NBA), Rutgers, St. John’s, and anything I forgot. Oh, the Bills I kind of tolerate.

Yes its in San Francisco...

I am a big Giants fan, but as always I have love for a Ute. If G-men can’t take it all, then I will root for Alex.
