Pac-12 2012 Football Schedule Released - Utah Will Open With Northern Colorado
The Pac-12 has released the 2012 football schedule. Once again, Utah will play the first game of the year, an opener against a lower-division foe, as Northern Colorado will visit Rice Eccles on the last Thursday of August. For the first time ever, all the games will be nationally televised this year.
One obvious highlight to the schedule is a Thursday night home game with USC, which will likely be featured on a prime ESPN or Fox channel. Utah and USC both have a bye week before the game, so there should be a lot of buildup coming into it.
Utah's schedule is as follows:
Thur., Aug. 30 - Northern Colorado at Utah
Sat. Sept. 8 - Utah at Utah State
Sat., Sept. 15 - BYU at Utah
Sat., Sept. 22 - Utah at Arizona State
Thurs., Oct. 4 - USC at Utah
Sat., Oct. 13 - Utah at UCLA
Sat., Oct. 20 - Utah at Oregon State
Sat., Oct. 27 - California at Utah
Sat., Nov. 3 - Washington State at Utah
Sat., Nov. 10 - Utah at Washington
Sat., Nov. 17 - Arizona at Utah
Fri., Nov. 23 - Utah at Colorado
The Pac-12 Championship Game will be Friday, Nov. 30

I honestly thought of adding it, but decided it was pretentious.
Can’t add it now anyway.
Dolphins and sharks are natural enemies. Dolphins are like, "Quit eating us," and sharks are like, "Stop smiling all the time, you morons."

And something I just realized for those who are LDS
That Thursday night game is General Conference weekend, so there won’t be a religion/football conflict this year.

Newer Shinier Toys
As much as the Rivalry MUST STAY on the schedule, the truth is we as Utah Fans have a bunch of newer, fancier, and shiny toys to look forward to on our schedule this year. Stuff we haven’t seen in a long time, or in some cases, ever.
Not to mention
That we might win the south next year. Makes those conference games seem much more important.

I am in favor of alternating BYU and USU every other year.
We can’t keep playing both of them every year, and I like playing USU more than BYU (the vitriol annoys me and Logan is so much nicer than Provo).

Can we get an 'Amen' up in here????
What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women. Especially BYU. - Conan the Barbarian (ok, maybe he didn't say the BYU part)
Regarding the alternating schedule idea...
Or the part about the vitriol?
If anyone found my snowboarding gloves after storming the field following the 2004 TDS game, I want them back!
How did we miss Oregon and Stanford again?

Because, as was announced last year when the rotation were announced......
We play every Northern Non California team 6 out of every 8 years, and the two Nor Cal Schools every two years. The schedule of who we play will rotate every two years.
This is simply year 2 of the rotation. Next year we Get Oregon And Stanford, and lose Cal and Washington State.
In 2015 Cal and Wazzu come back, and we say goodbye to Stanford and Washington.
In 2017 Stanford and Washington comes back, and we say goodbye to Cal and Oregon State.
Thanks
I thought it was every year… Shows what I know.

Nope, It's basically a bunch of Home/Away series with Northern Teams.
With the series expiring and then renewing sooner for Stanford/Cal
To all my Ute friends
I just got back from New Orleans after watching the Tide win another national championship. Please do everyone a favor and best USC next year.
