Four-star defensive tackle Visesio 'Junior' Salt bolts Florida, commits to Utah

Some big recruiting news to report, as four-star defensive tackle Visesio Salt has committed to Utah after decommitting from the Florida Gators.

Salt is a junior college transfer out of Mt. San Antonio Community College, though is originally from Salt Lake City.

He had committed late last year to the Gators, but appears to have had a change of heart.

So, huge get by the coaching staff!

Man there is a lot of beef on next year's class.

Salt comes in at 340
There’s also two 315 pound OL
1 310 pound OL
1 322 pound OL
and skinny boy DT at 295.

Nice to see some meat at the important positions next season. 635 lbs in the middle of the defense and 1262 lbs on the OL.

Can't find any video on the guy

But he sure is big! If anyone has any information on him, sharing is caring!

Saw this on the D-News, then rivals and now here.

Good news. Hopefully they will all sign on the dotted line on Feb 1.

Wow we've got a pretty solid recruiting class going

We’re nearly cracking the top 25 on Rivals.

We’re only #48 on scout.com, but at least we’re ahead of #49 BYU now.

Scout doesn't count

They don’t list stars for JUCO guys.

Rivals is far closer to reality

and I believe time has shown that.

Love the Jazz, Utes, and BoSox.

Yes.

2 years to play 2.

Woohoo!!

Looks like Star is getting a new best friend

I was thinking something similar...

He will add instant depth to an already deep defensive line. Utes will be rotating on the line and devouring o lines for four quarters next year.

I'm a pessimist

He broke one commitment. So where does this commitment lie on the scale of “my mom’s friend’s cousin’s girlfriend said he’s going to Utah” to “he’s signed on the dotted line, his SAT’s meet NCAA standards, and his parents have been spotted wearing Utah sweatshirts WITH the two feathers and drum.”

Of course, if he is from SLC, then his parents might already own those sweatshirts.

Go Cuse. Go Utes. Go Kings (hockey version). Go Panthers (hockey version). Go Marlins. Go Dodgers. I despise the NFL and NBA, so don't bore me.

All commitments should be taken with a grain of salt.

After all we lost quite a few commits towards the end of last year’s season.

That said, changing his commit to be closer to home, does have a bit more creedence

One thing that could make you optomistic...

is that he WANTED to play at Utah right out of H.S. but didn’t have the grades. He’s stated that with the U’s admission to the PAC-12 was a factor. Once he decided that he wanted to be closer to family and had a BSC team in his back yard….

Just curious but...

Any idea if this is the same Junior Salt?
http://archive.sltrib.com/article.php?id=3404655&itype=NGPSID

If so, I remember him from this tournament and others. Wrestling is like a brotherhood when you see the same guys week after week and Junior definitely sticks out in my memory. Enough so to remember this article.

It is the same Junior from the wrestling article.

My little brother wrestled with Junior at Brighton. The guy was a monster at 275, can’t wait to see him at 340+
